- • Design and implement secure workload isolation and sandboxing mechanisms for user-generated and AI-generated code execution within Workato’s enterprise-grade platform.
- • Build and enhance Linux-based isolation systems using kernel primitives such as namespaces, cgroups, seccomp, permissions, and access controls to enforce strict boundaries between untrusted workloads.
- • Develop and optimize container runtimes and hypervisor-based environments including gVisor, Kata Containers, Firecracker, containerd, CRI-O, and KVM-based platforms to ensure performance and security parity.
- • Profile and tune large-scale distributed systems to identify and eliminate performance bottlenecks in compute, memory, and I/O pathways critical to real-time orchestration.
- • Improve networking performance and traffic management by leveraging Linux kernel networking primitives including netfilter, nftables, eBPF, tc, and network namespaces.
- • Design and evolve internal service communication protocols and data transport mechanisms to support high-throughput, low-latency orchestration across hybrid and multi-cloud environments.
- • Contribute to the debugging, maintenance, and evolution of system-level infrastructure components that underpin Workato’s cloud-native iPaaS architecture.
- • Evaluate, integrate, and benchmark emerging isolation and virtualization technologies to maintain technical leadership in enterprise automation and AI operationalization.
- • Drive technical projects from initial architecture and requirements gathering through implementation, testing, and production rollout with end-to-end ownership.
- • Collaborate across engineering teams to define and deploy common, sustainable infrastructure solutions that scale across global deployments.
- • Maintain deep expertise in systems programming using C, Go, or Rust to build robust, secure, and performant low-level components.
- • Apply advanced debugging and optimization skills to resolve complex issues in distributed systems operating at enterprise scale.
- • Ensure alignment of system design with security best practices and compliance requirements for Fortune 500 customers.
- • Contribute to open source projects related to containerization, virtualization, or Linux security as a means of advancing industry standards and demonstrating technical leadership.
- • Maintain a strong understanding of the practical differences between network protocol specifications and real-world Internet behavior to anticipate and mitigate edge-case failures.
- • Solve complex customer-facing problems by translating operational constraints into scalable, secure infrastructure solutions.
- • Operate with autonomy and ownership, balancing innovation with operational reliability in a fast-paced, high-impact engineering environment.
🎯 Requirements
- • 5+ years of industry experience
- • Experience building and shipping large-scale, reliable, highly distributed systems
- • Systems-level programming experience, especially in C, Go, Rust
- • Expertise in L2, L3, and/or L4 networking protocols
- • Good understanding of Linux networking and security
- • Experience building on top of Linux kernel networking primitives – netfilter, nftables, eBPF, tc, network namespaces, etc
