📋 Description

• As a Senior Software Engineer on Airwallex’s Lending Platform team in Singapore, you will play a pivotal role in architecting, designing, and implementing large-scale, secure, and scalable systems that power innovative credit products for global enterprise clients.
• Day to day, you will design and develop robust backend services, build and maintain secure and well-documented APIs, lead design reviews, mentor engineers, champion resilient distributed systems, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and drive improvements in testing, monitoring, and platform architecture.
• You will join a Singapore-based Lending Engineering team that owns the design, delivery, and scaling of Airwallex’s credit product portfolio, working alongside exceptional teammates to build the future of embedded lending at global scale.
• In this role, you will deepen your expertise in distributed systems, cloud-native architecture, API design, and technical leadership while making tangible impact on a platform used by over 200,000 businesses worldwide, including industry leaders like Brex, Rippling, and Qantas.

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or above in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field
• 5+ years of hands-on experience in software engineering with strong exposure to modern engineering practices, CI/CD, and quality engineering
• At least 2 years in a technical leadership role, mentoring engineers and leading engineering strategy definition and execution
• Strong computer science foundation and object-oriented programming skills with proven experience building backend systems (Java/Kotlin and Spring/Spring Boot preferred)
• Extensive experience designing and building RESTful APIs with familiarity in modern API design principles and tools
• Experience with domain-driven design (DDD) and event-driven architectures in production environments
• Proven track record designing and maintaining high-throughput, low-latency, highly available distributed systems at scale
• Cloud experience with GCP (preferred) or AWS (EC2, RDS, ELB, CloudFront, etc.) with Docker and Kubernetes
• Familiarity with observability tooling such as Splunk, Grafana, and Prometheus
