📋 Description

• Lead technical development for the Growth team within Phil’s Pharmacy Platform, designing scalable backend systems and AI-driven workflows to onboard new clients and integrate patient, prescriber, and pharmacy networks.
• Build a repeatable, highly configurable technical playbook to accelerate client launches by leveraging Phil’s existing architecture and minimizing manual intervention.
• Implement and manage complex, rule-based workflows that support pharmacy operations, regulatory compliance, and patient engagement while reducing processing errors.
• Develop intelligent automations using AI-first methodologies to improve platform quality, reliability, and engineering velocity across client-facing systems.
• Architect, deploy, and maintain low-latency, high-reliability APIs and microservices using AWS native services including ECS/EKS, Lambda, RDS, and DynamoDB.
• Ensure system reliability in a critical healthcare environment by writing clean, observable code with comprehensive logging, monitoring, and fault-tolerant design.
• Serve as the primary engineering escalation point for complex client launch issues, providing rapid resolution and documentation to ensure long-term maintainability.
• Collaborate closely with Product Managers, Data Analysts, and external stakeholders to align technical solutions with business growth objectives and client needs.
• Mentor junior engineers, fostering a culture of strict architectural discipline, rapid innovation, and technical accountability across the engineering team.
• Document platform architecture and workflows thoroughly to enable knowledge transfer, reduce onboarding friction, and support future scalability.
• Optimize configuration-driven playbooks to handle enterprise-level variations across multiple client implementations without compromising system integrity.
• Apply modern engineering practices including the testing pyramid, CI/CD pipelines, and AI-augmented development tools to enhance deployment speed and code quality.
• Work within a fully remote environment while maintaining alignment with a mission-driven team focused on improving patient access to affordable medication.
• Operate in a HIPAA-compliant environment where data security and system reliability are non-negotiable priorities for all technical decisions.

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years of software engineering experience building, scaling, and maintaining large distributed systems
• Strong proficiency in Golang (or similar modern backend language) with proven track record in backend service development
• Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services (ECS/EKS, Lambda, RDS, DynamoDB) and relational/NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, DynamoDB)
• Deep knowledge of workflow engines or applications with high configuration complexity across enterprise clients
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent
• Experience with HIPAA compliance in health-tech environments is preferred
