- • Senior Software Engineer, Perpetuals at Polymarket Inc. – Own core exchange backend systems for perpetual futures, ensuring low-latency order matching, high-throughput state management, and platform reliability under load.
- • Day-to-day responsibilities include owning and optimizing the matching engine, designing for correctness at scale, building observability into systems, improving runtime performance, and leading end-to-end production incident resolution.
- • Polymarket is the world’s largest prediction market platform, enabling transparent, market-based probabilities on real-world events; the company processed $21B in volume in 2025 and aims to become a ubiquitous beacon of truth in global media.
- • In this role, you will deepen expertise in exchange infrastructure, drive measurable improvements in system performance and reliability, and take ownership of critical backend components in a high-impact, fast-growing environment.
🎯 Requirements
- • Senior backend engineering experience with a strong background in order-book-based exchange systems
- • Deep knowledge of low-latency systems: concurrency, lock contention, async correctness, and performance profiling
- • Experience with matching engines, order state management, or similar exchange infrastructure
- • Comfort working in Rust or a strong willingness to work in it
- • Strong observability fundamentals: metrics, logs, distributed traces, and profiling tools
- • Strong computer science fundamentals: algorithms, data structures, and systems design
