Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • Own major feature development and rollout of large-scale software systems that serve as the core abstraction layer between Mission Autonomy and diverse hardware platforms at Anduril.
- • Write and maintain critical, reusable systems used by nearly every robotics team at Anduril, enabling seamless integration of hardware from multiple vendors with differing protocols such as MAVLINK, STANAG, and proprietary serial interfaces.
- • Abstract low-level hardware differences to provide a unified interface that allows mission-level autonomy software to command vehicles without needing to understand underlying hardware specifics like communication protocols or data formats.
- • Collaborate closely with vehicle software teams during product development to understand their needs and deliver high-leverage software solutions that accelerate time-to-market for robotics platforms like Ghost, Anvil, Bolt, Altius, Dive, and Fury.
- • Implement and enhance hardware custody management and access-control semantics to ensure secure and controlled access to physical robotic systems across teams and deployments.
- • Design and deploy shared-memory IPC approaches and flexible observability plugins to improve system reliability, debugging, and real-time monitoring across distributed robotic platforms.
- • Work in a Linux development environment using C++ or Rust to build robust, performance-critical software that operates on embedded and physical robotic systems in field-deployed environments.
- • Troubleshoot and analyze remotely deployed software systems across Anduril’s U.S. offices and test sites, ensuring stability and performance under real-world operational conditions.
- • Engage with electrical and mechanical systems during integration and testing phases, bridging software development with physical hardware validation.
- • Participate in cross-team coordination to ensure RAIL’s interfaces meet the evolving needs of multiple robotics business lines and mission autonomy requirements.
- • Contribute to the scaling of Anduril’s robotics platform by leveraging existing investments and learnings from prior hardware integrations to rapidly onboard new robotic systems.
🎯 Requirements
- • 4+ years of C++ or Rust experience in a Linux development environment
- • BS in Robotics, Computer Science, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
- • Proven understanding of data structures, algorithms, concurrency, and code optimization
- • Experience troubleshooting and analyzing remotely deployed software systems
- • Experience working with and testing electrical and mechanical systems
- • Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance
🏖️ Benefits
- • Competitive base salary range of $191,000–$253,000 USD
- • Highly competitive equity grants included in full-time offers
- • Comprehensive, top-tier benefits package available at little to no cost to employees
- • Focus on health, recovery, and long-term employee support
