Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • Own major feature development and rollout of large-scale software systems that serve as the foundational interface between Mission Autonomy and diverse hardware platforms across Anduril’s robotics portfolio.
- • Design and maintain core systems used by nearly every robotics team at Anduril, enabling seamless integration of hardware from multiple vendors with varying protocols such as MAVLINK, STANAG, and proprietary serial interfaces.
- • Abstract low-level hardware differences through a unified, common interface so mission-level autonomy software can command vehicles without needing to understand underlying hardware specifics.
- • Develop and enhance hardware custody management, access-control semantics, shared-memory IPC mechanisms, and flexible observability plugins to support scalable and secure robot operations.
- • Collaborate closely with vehicle software teams during product development to understand their needs and deliver high-leverage software solutions that accelerate time-to-market for new robotic systems like Ghost, Anvil, Bolt, Altius, Dive, and Fury.
- • Work in a Linux development environment using C++ or Rust to build robust, real-time systems that interface with electrical and mechanical components on aerial small drones (Group 1-3).
- • Troubleshoot and analyze remotely deployed software systems in field conditions across multiple U.S. test sites and operational environments.
- • Contribute to the architecture of a scalable robotics platform that enables rapid deployment of new robot designs by leveraging existing investments and learnings from Anduril’s hardware portfolio.
- • Participate in end-to-end product development cycles, from concept to operational deployment, working in close coordination with hardware engineers, roboticists, and front-end mobile developers.
- • Ensure software reliability and performance under demanding operational conditions, with a focus on concurrency, code optimization, and efficient data handling.
🎯 Requirements
- • 4+ years of C++ or Rust experience in a Linux development environment
- • BS in Robotics, Computer Science, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
- • Proven understanding of data structures, algorithms, concurrency, and code optimization
- • Experience troubleshooting and analyzing remotely deployed software systems
- • Experience working with and testing electrical and mechanical systems
- • Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance
🏖️ Benefits
- • Competitive salary range of $191,000–$253,000 USD (base only)
- • Highly competitive equity grants included in full-time offers
- • Comprehensive, top-tier benefits package available at little to no cost to employees
- • Health, recovery, and wellness support as part of a holistic employee investment strategy
