📋 Description

• Serve as a Senior Software Engineer reporting directly to the CTO, building and scaling EverAI’s flagship AI companionship platform used by 50 million users.
• Collaborate with Product Managers to review project specifications, prepare integration plans, break-downs, and technical estimations for new features.
• Write, review, and deploy production-grade code using Ruby on Rails (latest version), with a focus on performance, scalability, and maintainability.
• Conduct code reviews, write automated tests, and ensure high-quality code delivery through PRs and peer feedback within a fast-paced engineering team.
• Work closely with web developers, SREs, and data scientists to integrate backend services with frontend systems using Hotwire (Turbo & Stimulus) and Tailwind CSS.
• Design and implement database schemas and optimizations using PostgreSQL and Redis to support high-traffic, real-time user interactions.
• Contribute to the technical roadmap by proposing and experimenting with new solutions that enhance user experience and system reliability.
• Maintain a user-centric mindset, ensuring all features align with the platform’s mission of delivering safe, ethical, and human-first AI companionship.
• Operate within a fully remote, globally distributed team with high autonomy, requiring strong self-direction and ownership of outcomes.
• Balance software craftsmanship with velocity, delivering high-quality code under tight deadlines without compromising system integrity.
• Engage with an AI ecosystem governed by EverGuard, EverAI’s proprietary moderation system, ensuring all code supports ethical and responsible AI deployment.
• Participate in annual in-person team gatherings to collaborate, brainstorm, and celebrate product milestones with the global engineering and product teams.
• Maintain fluent English communication skills to effectively coordinate across time zones with cross-functional stakeholders.
• Embrace a doer mindset — proactively identify bottlenecks, propose solutions, and ship features without waiting for explicit direction.
• Be comfortable working on products involving uncensored AI models and content, aligned with the company’s mission and ethical guardrails.

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years of experience as a back-end or full-stack software engineer
• Proven experience in tech scale-ups or similarly agile, fast-paced environments
• Extensive hands-on experience with Ruby, Ruby on Rails (latest), PostgreSQL, and Redis
• Strong communication and collaborative skills in English
• Ownership mindset and commitment to building user-centric, high-impact products
• Comfort working with uncensored AI models and content
