- • Build complex Ruby on Rails applications to support Workato’s enterprise-grade platform for agentic-era infrastructure.
- • Develop server-side infrastructure that powers Workato’s user interface, ensuring scalability and performance across enterprise deployments.
- • Contribute to all phases of the software development lifecycle, from design and implementation to testing, deployment, and maintenance.
- • Write well-designed, testable, and efficient code that adheres to high-quality engineering standards and best practices.
- • Evaluate and propose improvements to existing systems, focusing on performance, reliability, and maintainability.
- • Collaborate with UI, connectivity, and DevOps teams to design and implement elegant solutions to complex integration and orchestration challenges.
- • Investigate emerging technologies and alternative architectures, presenting findings for architectural review and team consideration.
- • Support the continuous improvement of the platform by identifying bottlenecks, optimizing database queries, and enhancing caching strategies using Redis and Memcache.
- • Work within a cloud-native, microservices-based environment that connects applications, data sources, and processes in real time at scale.
- • Ensure all code and systems meet enterprise-grade security requirements and compliance standards trusted by 50% of the Fortune 500.
- • Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and team retrospectives to foster a culture of shared ownership and collective excellence.
- • Maintain and extend backend APIs that enable seamless integration between Workato’s platform and third-party applications.
- • Apply object-oriented programming and design principles to build modular, reusable, and scalable components.
- • Leverage PostgreSQL for robust data modeling, transaction handling, and data integrity across distributed systems.
- • Contribute to a flexible, trust-oriented culture that empowers engineers to take full ownership of their work and deliver impactful solutions.
🎯 Requirements
- • 5+ years of strong experience developing, shipping, and maintaining Ruby on Rails applications
- • Vast knowledge of Ruby programming language
- • BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
- • Solid knowledge of object-oriented programming and design
- • Experience with Redis/Memcache-based caching and RDBMS engines (PostgreSQL)
- • Contributions to open source projects (preferred)
