📋 Description

• Build complex Ruby on Rails applications to support Workato’s enterprise-grade platform for automating data, applications, and AI workflows.
• Develop server-side infrastructure that powers the Workato user interface, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance for Fortune 500 customers.
• Contribute to all phases of the software development lifecycle, from design and implementation to testing, deployment, and maintenance.
• Write well-designed, testable, and efficient code that adheres to high-quality engineering standards and best practices.
• Evaluate and propose improvements to existing systems, including architecture, performance, and security enhancements.
• Collaborate with UI, connectivity, and DevOps teams to design and implement elegant, scalable solutions to complex integration challenges.
• Investigate emerging technologies and alternatives, presenting findings for architectural review to drive continuous innovation.
• Maintain and extend backend systems built on Ruby, with deep integration of Redis/Memcache for caching and PostgreSQL for data persistence.
• Ensure system reliability and operational excellence through rigorous code reviews, monitoring, and proactive issue resolution.
• Participate in cross-functional engineering efforts to align backend capabilities with product goals and customer needs.
• Support the development of API interfaces that enable seamless connectivity between enterprise applications and Workato’s orchestration platform.
• Uphold enterprise-grade security standards across all layers of the platform to protect sensitive customer data and workflows.
• Actively contribute to a flexible, trust-oriented culture that emphasizes ownership, innovation, and balanced productivity.
• Engage in team-driven problem solving with strong analytical, debugging, and communication skills to resolve technical challenges efficiently.
• Stay current with industry trends in cloud-native architecture, iPaaS, and AI-driven automation to inform platform evolution.

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years of strong experience developing, shipping, and maintaining Ruby on Rails applications
• Vast knowledge of Ruby and solid understanding of object-oriented programming and design
• BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
• Experience with Redis/Memcache-based caching and RDBMS engines (PostgreSQL)
• Contributions to open source projects (preferred)
• Excellent debugging, analytical, problem-solving, and social skills
