- • Build and maintain complex Ruby on Rails applications that power Workato’s enterprise-grade platform.
- • Design and develop server-side infrastructure to support Workato’s user interface and core functionality.
- • Contribute to all phases of the software development lifecycle, from design and implementation to testing and deployment.
- • Write clean, well-documented, testable, and efficient code that meets enterprise scalability and reliability standards.
- • Evaluate and propose architectural improvements to existing systems to enhance performance, security, and maintainability.
- • Collaborate closely with UI, connectivity, and DevOps teams to deliver integrated, end-to-end solutions for complex automation challenges.
- • Investigate emerging technologies and alternative approaches, presenting findings for architectural review and team consideration.
- • Ensure applications are built with enterprise-grade security, high availability, and real-time orchestration capabilities in mind.
- • Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and knowledge-sharing sessions to elevate team-wide engineering standards.
- • Support the continuous evolution of Workato’s platform by identifying bottlenecks, optimizing database queries, and improving caching strategies using Redis and Memcache.
- • Work within a flexible, trust-oriented culture that emphasizes ownership, innovation, and balanced productivity.
- • Engage in cross-functional teamwork to align backend systems with frontend requirements and operational needs across global teams.
- • Maintain and extend RDBMS-based data models using PostgreSQL to support high-volume, low-latency data operations.
- • Apply object-oriented programming and design principles to create scalable, modular, and reusable backend components.
- • Contribute to the reliability and resilience of Workato’s cloud-native architecture used by 50% of the Fortune 500.
🎯 Requirements
- • 5+ years of strong experience developing, shipping, and maintaining Ruby on Rails applications
- • Vast knowledge of Ruby programming language
- • BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
- • Solid knowledge of object-oriented programming and design
- • Experience with Redis/Memcache-based caching and RDBMS engines (PostgreSQL)
- • Contributions to open source projects (preferred)
