We are seeking a talented Senior/Staff Full Stack Engineer to play a pivotal role in shaping our all-in-one platform, empowering bookkeepers to manage client work, enhance client communication, identify critical errors, and deliver insightful reports for small business clients. Since our founding in 2021, Double has secured $12M in funding from prominent tech investors, including Y Combinator and founders from leading companies like Lattice, Front, Superhuman, and Plaid. • As a Senior/Staff Full Stack Engineer, you will be instrumental in driving our product development forward. Your primary responsibility will be to ship high-quality software on a daily basis, contributing significantly to both the front-end and back-end of our application. This role offers a unique opportunity to work extensively with TypeScript, a language that will form the backbone of our codebase, ensuring type safety and maintainability.
• You will have a direct impact on the user experience (UX) by influencing product design and engineering decisions. This involves not just writing code, but also understanding user needs and translating them into elegant, efficient, and scalable solutions. Collaboration is key to our success; you will work closely with a high-performing Engineering, Product, and Design (EPD) team, fostering a culture of shared ownership and continuous improvement.
• Our tech stack is modern and robust, featuring React with Redux Toolkit and React Query on the front-end, and Node.js with Express, TypeORM, and PostgreSQL on the back-end. You will be deeply involved in architecting and developing new features, refactoring existing code, and ensuring the performance and reliability of our platform. This includes writing clean, well-documented, and testable code.

You will have the autonomy to explore new technologies and approaches that can enhance our product and development processes. 🎯 Requirements

• 4+ years of demonstrable experience architecting and developing web applications with React and Node.js.
• Demonstrable experience writing type-safe code with TypeScript.
• Strong ES6+ JavaScript experience.
• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, or equivalent practical work experience.
