- • Design, develop, and deploy scalable machine learning systems that process large-scale datasets to drive critical business outcomes for Poshmark’s 165 million-member marketplace.
- • Explore and analyze massive datasets to identify patterns, research novel algorithms, and build predictive models that enhance user experience and business performance.
- • Own end-to-end development of machine learning pipelines from prototyping to production, ensuring robustness, scalability, and reliability across distributed systems.
- • Collaborate cross-functionally with data science, engineering, and business teams to translate business problems into machine learning solutions and deliver data products company-wide.
- • Build and optimize machine learning applications using SparkML, TensorFlow, PyTorch, and Keras to handle high-volume, real-time data streams from user interactions and marketplace activity.
- • Architect and improve system infrastructure to support horizontal scalability at all layers, including data ingestion, feature engineering, model training, and inference serving.
- • Implement best practices for model versioning, monitoring, testing, and retraining to ensure consistent performance and rapid iteration of ML features.
- • Leverage Big Data technologies including Spark, Kinesis, Airflow, and Jenkins to automate data workflows and enable efficient, repeatable ML operations.
- • Work with data storage and analytics platforms such as MongoDB, Redshift, and Druid to extract, transform, and serve high-quality features for model training and real-time inference.
- • Write clean, maintainable code in Scala and Python, adhering to software engineering standards while rapidly prototyping and deploying ML solutions in a fast-paced environment.
- • Contribute to the democratization of data by creating tools and documentation that empower non-ML teams to leverage machine learning outputs for decision-making.
- • Stay current with advancements in machine learning and distributed systems to continuously improve the team’s technical capabilities and product impact.
🎯 Requirements
- • 6+ years of overall software development experience with at least 4+ years applying machine learning to real-world business problems
- • Strong proficiency in machine learning algorithms, modeling techniques, and frameworks such as SparkML, TensorFlow, PyTorch, and Keras
- • Proven experience building scalable ML systems using Big Data technologies including Spark, Kinesis, Airflow, and Jenkins
- • Expertise in programming languages Scala and Python for data processing and model development
- • Deep understanding of distributed systems and large-scale engineering challenges in production environments
- • Experience working with data storage platforms such as MongoDB, Redshift, and Druid
