- • Senior Staff ML Engineer leading the design and development of Reddit’s next-generation search and recommendation systems, powering AI-driven experiences that deliver real answers and conversation from Reddit’s vast corpus of human-generated content.
- • Day-to-day responsibilities include enhancing search retrieval and ranking, building and scaling search indexes, deploying ML models and LLMs, developing pipeline components, and ensuring robust monitoring and product integration across the search stack.
- • Part of the Search Recommendations & Relevance team at Reddit, collaborating with product, infrastructure, data science, and ML teams to shape the future of search relevance and influence org-wide technical direction.
- • Opportunity to mentor senior engineers, drive technical vision, and build scalable systems that will serve billions of users while advancing expertise in large-scale AI-powered search, RAG, and LLM integration.
🎯 Requirements
- • 10+ years of industry experience with deep expertise in large-scale search and recommendation systems
- • Strong experience building and deploying large-scale ML models using PyTorch or TensorFlow
- • In-depth knowledge and experience with lexical and semantic retrieval systems
- • Proficiency in object-oriented programming (Python, Golang)
- • Experience working with LLMs in production, including evaluation, tuning, and deployment
- • Nice to have: experience building production Agentic AI frameworks
