📋 Description

• Design and build Suno’s Android app across music creation, discovery, playback, and social experiences
• Create foundational abstractions and libraries for performant, highly interactive media experiences
• Own feature development from zero to one and beyond — scoping, shipping, and iterating post-launch
• Collaborate closely with product and design teams to shape the feel, flow, and direction of the app
• Optimize for performance, responsiveness, and delight — including UI rendering, memory usage, network efficiency, and audio latency
• Instrument and monitor app health using real user data to drive rapid iteration and improvements
• Set the technical direction for the Android platform and define architectural patterns that scale to 10x the current user base
• Mentor engineers and raise the bar for code quality, engineering practices, and team culture
• Translate design prototypes into robust, production-grade Android code with fluid animations and polished interactions
• Leverage Android-specific capabilities to deliver a media-rich application that feels native and delightful
• Profile, benchmark, and resolve performance bottlenecks across UI, memory, and network layers
• Work with real-time AI inference systems integrated into the Android client
• Contribute to architectural decisions as an early member of the Android team alongside the founding team
• Ensure the app maintains a 4.8-star rating on Google Play with over 10M downloads and 1.6M reviews
• Ship and iterate on features that enable users to create, share, and discover AI-generated music on mobile
• Work in close collaboration with backend engineers to design and consume mobile-first APIs
• Maintain a strong focus on user experience details that most engineers overlook
• Operate effectively in ambiguous environments, scoping work and making tradeoffs without fully-defined specs
• Participate in a 5-day-per-week in-office culture at Suno’s Chelsea, New York City office

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years shipping production Android apps
• Advanced expertise in Kotlin and modern Android development frameworks and best practices
• Experience building fluid, polished animations and translating design prototypes into robust, production-grade code
• A keen understanding of what’s distinct about Android — and how to leverage that in a media-rich application
• Strong sense for performance: you profile, benchmark, and fix across UI rendering, memory, and network efficiency
• An obsession with great user experience — you care about the details that most engineers skip
• Comfort with ambiguity: you can scope work, make tradeoffs, and ship without a fully-defined spec
• A collaborative spirit and strong communication — you work fluidly with designers, PMs, and backend teams
