• As a Mobile Software Engineer on our Infrastructure team, you will play a pivotal role in building and maintaining the core Android application that serves millions of daily active users. This is a unique opportunity to impact the entire lifecycle of our crypto mobile applications, encompassing pro/retail trading, asset management, and wallet functionalities.
• Your primary focus will be on developing and enhancing the mobile infrastructure and tooling that underpins our Android application. This includes creating robust systems and utilities designed to significantly improve engineering efficiency, streamline development workflows, and elevate the overall quality of our mobile products.
• You will be instrumental in analyzing and optimizing both UI and infrastructure application code. This involves identifying performance bottlenecks, reducing memory footprints, and decreasing package sizes to ensure a fast, responsive, and resource-efficient user experience.
• A key responsibility will be the development and maintenance of reusable Android app components. These components will serve as building blocks for various features, promoting consistency, reducing redundant code, and accelerating development across the team.
• Collaboration is at the heart of this role. You will work closely with product engineering teams to deliver cutting-edge technical solutions and champion best practices in Android development. Your insights will help shape the technical direction and ensure the scalability and maintainability of our mobile platform.
• You will actively contribute to optimizing the project structure and workflow. This involves implementing strategies and tools that enhance engineering productivity, boost efficiency, and uphold the highest standards of quality in our development processes.
• Drive architecture innovations that will support the evolution of our world-class mobile app development. This includes exploring and implementing new technologies, patterns, and methodologies to keep OKX at the forefront of mobile innovation in the crypto space.
• You will be responsible for ensuring the performance, scalability, and reliability of the Android application's core infrastructure. This requires a deep understanding of Android SDK capabilities and best practices for building dynamic, highly performant UI components.
• Engage with remote APIs, concurrency models, complex layouts, transitions, and animations. Your expertise will be crucial in architecting and implementing solutions that handle these aspects efficiently and effectively within the mobile app.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of our CI/CD pipelines and automated testing frameworks, ensuring rapid and reliable delivery of high-quality software.
• Mentor junior engineers, share your knowledge, and foster a culture of technical excellence and continuous learning within the mobile team.
• Stay abreast of the latest trends and advancements in Android development and the broader mobile ecosystem, bringing innovative ideas and solutions to OKX.

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of professional experience in Android development.
• Proven experience in building and shipping complex, business-critical Android applications with a history of frequent iterations and updates.
• Demonstrated expertise in optimizing app performance, reducing memory usage, and minimizing application package size.
• Deep understanding of Android design patterns, principles, and the broader Android technology stack.
• Familiarity with the Android Jetpack libraries and/or other popular open-source Android libraries such as RxJava, Retrofit, Litho, etc.
• Strong knowledge of the Android SDK for creating scalable, dynamic, and highly performant UI components.
• Working knowledge of remote APIs, concurrency, advanced layouts, transitions, animations, client-side persistence, and common architectural patterns in mobile applications.
• Experience working in a mobile architecture or infrastructure team, with a deep understanding of the technologies involved in such projects.
• Experience in specialized engineering areas like performance tuning, toolchain development, automated testing, and design pattern implementation.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team while also being comfortable delivering significant business outcomes independently.
