📋 Description
- • Design and scale backend services using Next.js API routes, background jobs, and serverless functions to handle high-throughput order processing for autonomous manufacturing operations.
- • Build and productionize LLM-based AI agents and AI/ML infrastructure using RAG patterns to enable intelligent quote analysis and supplier recommendations.
- • Own the data layer by designing Supabase/PostgreSQL schemas, migrations, and complex queries that model materials, quotes, orders, and supplier relationships.
- • Architect event-driven systems to manage order state transitions, trigger notifications, and synchronize data across internal and external systems.
- • Implement caching and rate-limiting strategies for external API calls to ensure system reliability and performance at scale.
- • Establish monitoring, alerting, and observability patterns for all backend systems and own incident response for platform-wide outages or failures.
- • Develop data pipelines that process unstructured documents and emails using NLP/ML techniques, including OCR and information extraction for supply chain workflows.
- • Integrate with enterprise ERP systems such as SAP and Oracle, as well as freight and carrier APIs, including legacy or poorly documented interfaces.
- • Ensure transactional integrity in data processing by applying ACID semantics, exactly-once processing, and idempotent API design principles.
- • Collaborate within a small, fast-moving seed-funded team to build foundational platform components that directly enable physical goods movement across US manufacturing supply chains.
- • Utilize TypeScript, Node.js, Python, PostgreSQL, LLMs, embeddings, vector databases, AWS, containerization, CI/CD, and RESTful patterns to deliver scalable, production-grade software.
- • Translate complex manufacturing, procurement, and logistics workflows into robust, automated software systems that reduce manual intervention and improve operational reliability.
- • Maintain high standards for code quality, system documentation, and cross-team knowledge sharing in a high-impact, early-stage startup environment.
🎯 Requirements
- • Experience within the supply chain domain (manufacturing, procurement, logistics, or freight workflows).
- • Proven experience designing reliable data processing with transactional guarantees — ACID semantics, exactly-once processing, and idempotent APIs.
- • Experience with NLP/ML pipelines for extracting data from unstructured documents and emails, including OCR and information extraction.
- • Familiarity integrating with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and freight/carrier APIs, including legacy or poorly documented interfaces.
- • Strong computer science fundamentals; all educational backgrounds welcome.
- • 2–10+ years of relevant software engineering experience.
