📋 Description

• As n8n's first UX Researcher, you will establish the company's research function from the ground up, turning user understanding into a core driver of product and business decisions across the organization. This is a strategic, high-impact role where you will shape how research informs everything from AI-powered workflows to enterprise features and growth journeys.
• Day to day, you will build scalable research infrastructure including automated recruitment systems, a unified participant pool, and a searchable insights repository; define and own the research roadmap in collaboration with product and design leads; conduct high-impact mixed-methods studies ranging from foundational work like personas and JTBD to generative discovery and validation; mentor cross-functional teams to run their own studies through templates, playbooks, and hands-on support; and leverage AI and n8n as tools to amplify research impact while maintaining rigorous ethical and GDPR-compliant practices.
• You will join a remote-first, fast-growing team of over 220 builders across Europe and the US, united by a shared passion for open-source workflow automation and backed by a community of 650,000+ active developers and 145k+ GitHub stars. n8n is a Series C company valued at $2.5bn, ranked among Europe’s most promising SaaS startups, and committed to transparency, experimentation, and craft.
• In this role, you will deepen your expertise in research operations and strategic influence, gain hands-on experience applying AI to the research lifecycle, and help establish a lasting research culture that empowers teams to make user-centered decisions. You’ll have the autonomy to shape n8n’s research practice while growing alongside a company at the forefront of the AI orchestration movement.

🎯 Requirements

• n8n power user: You are confident in using n8n and leverage it in your daily workflow as a core tool.
• Research expertise: 5-7 years in UX research with strong mixed-methods skills, ideally in B2B or technical environments. Experience with foundational research like personas, jobs-to-be-done, and segmentation. Curious about complex systems and technical workflows. Comfortable working independently and partnering with data teams.
• ResearchOps builder: Experience building research infrastructure: recruitment, participant databases, community management, and tooling.
• Strategic mindset: Scope needs, build roadmaps, connect research to business outcomes. Experience working with OKRs and prioritization frameworks.
• Mentor & coach: Elevate others' research capabilities with pragmatism and high standards. Experience mentoring senior teams.
• Communication & influence: Translate findings into narratives that influence teams and leadership alike. Skilled at socializing insights in remote-first environments.
• AI-savvy researcher: Hands-on AI experience across the research lifecycle with a strong ethical perspective.
• Privacy & compliance: Understanding of GDPR and research ethics with hands-on compliance experience.
