- • As a Senior State Tax Analyst at Viatris Inc., you will play a critical role in ensuring accurate and timely state tax compliance for a global healthcare leader serving approximately 1 billion patients annually. Your work directly supports the company’s mission to empower healthier lives by managing complex tax obligations that impact financial reporting and operational efficiency.
- • Day to day, you will manage external loan staff in preparing, reviewing, and filing state tax returns; oversee annual returns, periodic estimates, filing extensions, and provision-to-return reconciliations; handle state income and franchise tax controversies by coordinating with internal teams and governmental agencies; analyze quarterly and annual financial statement tax calculations under ASC 740; compute FIN #48 tax contingency accruals; review tax legislation for compliance and improvement opportunities; lead state tax loan staff efforts; and assess the tax impact of mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures for senior leadership.
- • You will join Viatris, a global healthcare company formed from the merger of Mylan and Upjohn, dedicated to bridging generics and brands to deliver access to high-quality medicines at scale. The tax team operates within a mission-driven, inclusive culture that values integrity, innovation, and collaboration across borders to improve patient outcomes worldwide.
- • In this role, you will deepen your expertise in state corporate income tax, ASC 740, FIN #48, and multi-jurisdictional tax compliance while gaining exposure to advanced tax technologies like OneSource, Hyperion, SAP, and Power BI. You will develop leadership skills by managing external resources and influencing senior tax leadership on strategic M&A tax implications, positioning yourself for advancement in corporate tax management.
🎯 Requirements
- • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred
- • Minimum of 3 years of experience in Big Four tax department and/or tax department of a multi-national publicly held company
- • Working knowledge of federal and state corporate income tax laws, ASC 740, FIN #18, and FIN #48
