đź“‹ Description

  • • As a Senior Supplier Quality Engineer at Semtech Corporation, you will be at the forefront of ensuring the highest quality standards are met by our outsourced semiconductor assembly and test (OSAT) partners. This critical role involves a deep dive into the Quality Management Systems (QMS) of our suppliers, ensuring they are not only certified to industry standards but also rigorously adhere to Semtech's specific quality requirements. You will be instrumental in fostering a culture of continuous improvement, driving OSATs to implement best practices that eliminate customer complaints and defects, reduce process variation, and minimize waste. Your efforts will directly contribute to exceeding our quality and reliability performance goals, safeguarding Semtech's reputation and customer satisfaction.
  • • A significant portion of your role, approximately 40%, will focus on Supplier Quality Strategy and Governance. This includes ensuring OSATs fully comprehend and comply with all Semtech Quality and Reliability Requirements, conducting regular training sessions, and keeping them updated on any changes. You will perform comprehensive audits, including QMS, Manufacturing Process, Preventive, SCARs, and Product audits, to verify compliance with Semtech requirements, industry standards, and the OSATs' internal specifications. A key responsibility is to promptly identify and close any gaps or non-compliances identified during these audits.
  • • You will actively drive OSATs to initiate and execute continuous improvement projects. These projects will be strategically aimed at preventing customer complaints, mitigating internal quality incidents, and reducing defect rates. This will involve facilitating, leading, and collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, both within Semtech and at the OSAT facilities. Furthermore, you will prepare OSATs for end-customer audits, ensuring successful outcomes and providing corrective or improvement actions for any concerns raised. Sharing lessons learned from other OSATs with similar product lines and disseminating best practices across all suppliers will be crucial for preventing recurring issues and elevating overall supplier performance.
  • • Resolving quality incidents swiftly and effectively is paramount. You will work collaboratively with Semtech and OSAT teams to ensure immediate resolution and implement robust corrective and preventive actions to prevent recurrence. This proactive approach to issue management is vital for maintaining operational continuity and product integrity.
  • • The remaining 30% of your time will be dedicated to Supplier Quality Performance and Analytics. You will champion the adoption of advanced continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean, Six-Sigma, Poka-Yoke (Error Proofing), Measurement System Analysis (MSA), Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Control Plan (CP), and Statistical Process Control (SPC). Conducting training and awareness activities on supplier quality procedures and processes will be a key part of this effort. You will provide clear, data-driven feedback to OSATs on their quality and operational performance through regular scorecards, quality meetings, and management reviews, demanding and supporting improvement actions as needed.
  • • The final 30% of your role involves Strategic Business Partnership. You will support the review and disposition of non-conforming materials, assess process changes, evaluate customer information, and analyze supplier quality data. Collaborating with Engineering teams (Design and Manufacturing) is essential to define process parameters and criteria that ensure supplier process capability meets product and process requirements. You will play a vital role in supporting new product launches, verifying that suppliers are capable of meeting the required quality standards from the outset. Additionally, you will assist the corporate team with Customer Information Requests, particularly concerning OSAT compliance with Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) policies and procedures, ensuring Semtech meets its broader corporate responsibility commitments.
  • • This role offers a unique opportunity to influence the quality trajectory of Semtech's supply chain, working with cutting-edge semiconductor technologies and fostering strong partnerships with key manufacturing partners. Your expertise will be critical in driving excellence and ensuring the reliability of Semtech's products in the market.
