- • Oversee all technical aspects of assigned post-sale projects from award to system acceptance for mission-critical public safety communication systems.
- • Design and implement radio networks including infrastructure, subscriber units, and mobile backhaul based on APCO Project 25 standards and LTE enhancements.
- • Conduct radio coverage testing and implement interference mitigation strategies to ensure optimal network performance.
- • Prepare and maintain engineering designs, system diagrams, fleetmaps, encryption templates, and bill of materials for customer deployments.
- • Obtain and manage radio system licenses from FCC, Industry Canada, and NTIA regulatory bodies.
- • Deliver professional technical presentations to customers, including non-technical stakeholders, explaining complex system architectures and solutions.
- • Perform system staging, configuration, integration, and troubleshooting of radio and IP network equipment.
- • Develop project-specific installation plans, scope documents, and acceptance test plans in collaboration with Project Management and Operations teams.
- • Conduct site walks with customers and project teams to assess requirements, validate infrastructure readiness, and define scope.
- • Provide technical guidance and support to Project Managers and field Installation teams throughout project lifecycle.
- • Act as the primary technical liaison between Motorola Solutions and customer general contractors, subcontractors, and trades personnel during implementation.
- • Support live system cutovers and upgrades, ensuring minimal disruption to critical public safety operations.
- • Deliver complete and accurate final system documentation to customers upon project completion.
- • Monitor and resolve network performance and connectivity issues across Ethernet, TCP/IP, L2/L3, and MPLS environments.
- • Collaborate with cross-functional teams in a high-performance environment with demanding timelines and high customer expectations.
- • Travel 25% to 50% for project phases including design, installation, testing, and customer acceptance.
- • Work primarily in support of ASTRO 25 network solutions for State and Local Government Public Safety Communications in IL, IN, IA, MO, KY, KS, or NE.
- • Maintain trusted advisor relationships with government and public safety customers by delivering reliable, high-quality technical solutions.
🎯 Requirements
- • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or Computer Engineering (BSCE) plus 3+ years of engineering or technology experience OR 6+ years of Systems Engineering, Wireless Communications, or Public Safety Technical experience
- • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. indefinitely; no employer sponsorship available
- • Experience with radio communication systems, RF system design, and line-of-sight microwave propagation
- • Working knowledge of IP networking, including Ethernet, TCP/IP, L2/L3, and MPLS
- • Certifications such as CompTIA Network+, Juniper JNCIA-Junos, Nokia NRS1, or CCNA
- • Experience directly working with end-user customers in technical support or implementation roles
