📋 Description

• Support global indirect tax compliance including sales and use tax, VAT/GST, and other applicable indirect taxes across international jurisdictions.
• Prepare and review indirect tax filings and reconciliations in coordination with external tax advisors and internal finance teams.
• Assist in the implementation, maintenance, and optimization of sales tax engine systems such as Avalara, Fonoa, and Coupa to ensure accurate tax calculation and reporting.
• Maintain the tax compliance calendar and ensure timely submission of filings and payments to avoid penalties and ensure regulatory adherence.
• Prepare indirect tax accruals and related journal entries in accordance with GAAP standards for monthly and quarterly financial reporting.
• Perform monthly and quarterly account reconciliations for tax-related general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy and integrity of financial records.
• Collaborate with FP&A to support cash tax forecasting and indirect tax accrual calculations aligned with financial planning cycles.
• Assist with VAT/GST registrations and ongoing compliance requirements as the company expands into new international markets.
• Support indirect tax audits and voluntary disclosure initiatives by gathering documentation, preparing responses, and coordinating with external counsel.
• Contribute to the documentation and enhancement of internal controls to meet SOX and GAAP compliance requirements.
• Participate in tax-related technology projects and process improvements aimed at increasing efficiency, scalability, and automation within the tax function.
• Work during U.S. business hours during quarter-end close periods (second week after quarter end, typically three to five days) and during the initial 3-month onboarding period to ensure seamless collaboration with the U.S.-based tax team.
• Transition to a hybrid work model in Bengaluru after onboarding, with two days per week in the office for team collaboration, except during recurring quarter-end close periods.
• Utilize NetSuite, FloQast, and other enterprise systems to manage tax data, automate workflows, and maintain accurate financial records.
• Demonstrate strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high-growth SaaS environment.

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years of relevant experience in public accounting and/or industry with exposure to indirect tax and tax compliance
• Working knowledge of U.S. indirect tax rules; familiarity with VAT/GST concepts is a plus
• Experience with sales tax engines (e.g., Avalara) and ERP systems (NetSuite experience preferred)
• Strong analytical and organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail
• Clear written and verbal communication skills with ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams
• Process-oriented mindset with interest in improving workflows and leveraging automation
