- • Lead and review complex federal tax engagements for veterinary hospitals, including Forms 1120S, 1065, and 1040, as well as multi-entity and high-net-worth returns.
- • Serve as a strategic tax advisor to veterinary practice owners on tax planning, entity structuring, cash flow optimization, profitability improvement, and long-term financial and business planning.
- • Build and maintain long-term, consultative client relationships through proactive communication and advisory-driven service, moving beyond compliance to deliver high-impact financial guidance.
- • Review tax returns, workpapers, and planning strategies to ensure technical accuracy, regulatory compliance, and high-quality deliverables.
- • Mentor, coach, and develop junior tax staff and managers, elevating technical skills, client service standards, and professional growth across the remote team.
- • Manage multiple client engagements simultaneously while maintaining responsiveness, quality, and adherence to deadlines in a fully remote environment.
- • Collaborate with firm leadership on operational improvements, strategic initiatives, and organizational growth efforts to support the firm’s expansion and advisory focus.
- • Stay current on evolving federal tax regulations, industry-specific trends affecting veterinary practices, and emerging best practices in public accounting.
- • Operate with high autonomy in a trust-based, fully remote culture that prioritizes outcomes over billable hour quotas and emphasizes leadership, impact, and work-life flexibility.
- • Contribute to a growing advisory-focused firm by applying an entrepreneurial mindset to solve client challenges and shape the future of veterinary practice accounting.
- • Engage in cross-functional collaboration with other departments to enhance service delivery, integrate technology solutions, and support firm-wide strategic goals.
- • Deliver strategic guidance on practice growth initiatives, including succession planning, capital investment decisions, and business acquisition or expansion strategies for veterinary clients.
- • Maintain a client-centric approach focused on trust, reliability, and long-term partnership rather than transactional compliance work.
- • Participate in continuing education and professional development to ensure expertise remains current and aligned with industry advancements in veterinary financial advisory.
🎯 Requirements
- • Active CPA license required
- • 7+ years of progressive public accounting tax experience preferred
- • Strong experience reviewing and managing complex pass-through entity tax returns (1120S, 1065)
- • Proven ability to lead client relationships and deliver advisory-focused tax guidance
- • Experience mentoring staff and leading teams in a collaborative environment
- • Comfortable operating independently in a fully remote, high-autonomy environment
