📋 Description
- • As a Senior Technical Program Manager (P4) on the Follow Up Boss (FUB) & Partner team at Zillow Group, you will be instrumental in driving the success of complex, cross-functional technical and product programs. This role is pivotal in shaping the future of Zillow's real estate experiences by leading initiatives that span multiple teams and quarters, ensuring clarity, alignment, and predictable delivery across deep technical challenges and customer-facing product launches.
- • You will own and orchestrate high-impact initiatives within the FUB ecosystem, collaborating closely with Engineering, Product, Data Science, Design, Marketing, Partnerships, and external partners. Your leadership will ensure these critical programs are executed effectively, delivering significant value to Zillow's customers and partners.
- • A key aspect of this role involves driving alignment across diverse organizational boundaries. You will proactively identify and surface dependencies and misalignments early in the program lifecycle, engaging leadership with clear, data-driven trade-offs, identified risks, and robust decision frameworks to guide strategic choices.
- • Your responsibilities will encompass a broad spectrum of initiatives, including both engineering-focused programs and customer-facing product launches. This includes leading platform modernization efforts, reliability improvements, API evolution, and the development of data and AI infrastructure. Simultaneously, you will guide customer-facing product programs such as new FUB capabilities, enhancements to partner workflows, monetization strategies, and cross-platform launches.
- • You will be tasked with balancing the immediate needs of short-term delivery with the imperative of maintaining long-term platform health and scalability. This involves ensuring that technical investments made today will accelerate future product velocity and support Zillow's growth objectives.
- • A significant focus will be placed on partnering with Engineering and Data Science teams to deliver end-to-end AI- and ML-enabled capabilities. This includes overseeing model integration, experimentation, evaluation, rollout strategies, and post-launch monitoring, all while upholding responsible AI practices and rigorous quality measurement.
- • Developing clear, structured program plans is essential. You will define milestones, identify dependencies, establish measurable outcomes, and proactively identify risks and potential bottlenecks. Your role will involve driving mitigation strategies to ensure programs remain on track and meet their objectives.
- • You will define key success metrics for programs, meticulously track program health across delivery, quality, and business impact, and establish scalable mechanisms to enhance engineering velocity and improve cross-team execution. This data-driven approach will ensure continuous improvement and operational excellence.
- • Connecting platform and product investments directly to customer impact and overarching business outcomes will be a core function. You will influence roadmap priorities by clearly articulating technical and operational trade-offs, and by making principled decisions that effectively balance constraints, commitments, and customer value, ensuring that Zillow's investments yield maximum return.
- • This role offers the unique opportunity to work on large, often ambiguous initiatives that are critical to Zillow's mission. You will be at the forefront of innovation, leveraging technology to solve complex problems in the real estate domain and enhance the experience for millions of users and partners.
- • You will foster a collaborative environment, encouraging open communication and proactive problem-solving among all stakeholders. Your ability to navigate complex organizational structures and influence without formal authority will be key to your success.
- • Ultimately, you will contribute to Zillow's mission of empowering customers in their home-finding journeys by ensuring the reliable and efficient delivery of cutting-edge technology and product solutions.
🎯 Requirements
- • 5+ years of experience in technical program management or software program management within complex, cross-functional environments.
- • Proven experience leading both infrastructure/technical programs and customer-facing product initiatives.
- • Familiarity with modern web and mobile architectures, distributed systems, and APIs, preferably within agile development methodologies.
- • Knowledge of the AI/ML product development lifecycle, including experimentation, deployment, evaluation, and monitoring.
- • Ability to identify dependencies across systems, teams, and partners, bring clarity to ambiguous environments, and think in systems about how technical investments enable product velocity and long-term scalability.
- • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders and influence without formal authority.
- • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including assessing trade-offs and making data-informed decisions.
