- • Drive execution of critical security and compliance programs including vulnerability management, merger and acquisition security integration, infrastructure hardening, and datacenter security management, collaborating closely with engineering teams on technical architecture and problem resolution.
- • Partner with IT, Infrastructure, Application, Legal, Privacy, and Security teams to build scalable programs and deliver critical security outcomes across insider threat, information security, physical security, and information technology domains.
- • Establish and implement scalable frameworks for key security initiatives such as evidence collection, incident response coordination, supply chain risk management, and device security.
- • Translate OpenAI’s privacy and security commitments into actionable engineering milestones and ensure full implementation across systems and products.
- • Create and maintain program-level visibility across risk areas, security milestones, and cross-org dependencies to ensure reliable, high-quality delivery of security outcomes.
- • Communicate program status, risks, tradeoffs, and decisions clearly to both technical and executive audiences, driving cross-functional execution with urgency and precision.
- • Lead complex, cross-functional initiatives that reduce internal data access, prevent misuse of AI systems, and ship security capabilities at scale.
- • Apply systems thinking and principled judgment to navigate ambiguity and scale trust, governance, and security across OpenAI’s infrastructure, products, and global operations.
- • Maintain rigorous accountability for quality and durable delivery by enforcing security requirements through structured program management and detailed tracking.
- • Operate with a bias for aligned execution over organizational boundaries, fostering trust and collaboration across engineering, legal, compliance, and product stakeholders.
- • Ensure compliance with global regulatory expectations by aligning technical controls with legal and policy requirements across OpenAI’s international operations.
- • Manage end-to-end lifecycle of security programs from design and implementation to monitoring and continuous improvement, with emphasis on scalability and operational excellence.
- • Serve as a key liaison between technical teams and non-technical stakeholders to bridge gaps in understanding and align priorities around security and privacy.
- • Maintain deep fluency in the intersection of engineering systems, security controls, and regulatory frameworks to provide clarity and structure to complex initiatives.
- • Lead initiatives that protect sensitive data, secure AI systems, and uphold OpenAI’s societal commitments to safety and responsible deployment.
🎯 Requirements
- • 5+ years of experience leading complex technical programs focused on infrastructure security, data privacy, compliance, or enterprise platform capabilities
- • Deep fluency in the intersection of engineering systems, security controls, and regulatory expectations
- • Proven record of driving highly cross-functional efforts across engineering, infrastructure, legal, compliance, and product stakeholders
- • Strong ability to influence and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences
- • Structured, detail-oriented approach with rigor in ensuring quality, accountability, and durable delivery
- • Experience managing programs related to vulnerability management, incident response, supply chain risk, or device security
