📋 Description
- • As a Senior Territory Sales Engineer (TSE) at Calix, Inc., you will be the pivotal technical expert and advocate for our Communication Service Provider (CSP) customers across North Dakota and Northern Minnesota. This remote-based role is instrumental in driving the adoption of Calix's innovative platform, which empowers CSPs to modernize their operations, enhance subscriber experiences, and achieve significant business growth. You will partner intimately with the sales team, acting as the technical cornerstone for strategic engagements, designing comprehensive solutions that address complex customer challenges and position them as market leaders in the rapidly evolving broadband industry.
- • Your primary responsibility will be to lead and manage all technical aspects of the sales cycle. This involves deeply understanding customer needs, architecting end-to-end solutions that span Calix's Access, Subscriber, and Cloud platforms, and guiding customers through technical validation processes, including lab testing and field trials. You will be expected to translate intricate technical concepts into clear, compelling narratives that resonate with a diverse audience, from highly technical engineering teams to senior executive leadership.
- • A key facet of this role is your ability to present technical solutions with confidence and clarity. This includes delivering impactful sales-oriented presentations to customer technical staff and senior management, as well as representing Calix at industry trade shows and company marketing events within your assigned territory. Your presentations will not only showcase the technical merits of our offerings but also articulate the tangible business value and competitive advantages they provide.
- • Collaboration is paramount. You will work closely with Sales, Services, and other Specialist teams to ensure seamless deal acceleration and successful customer deployments. This cross-functional synergy is critical for delivering integrated outcomes and maintaining customer satisfaction throughout their journey with Calix.
- • You will also be responsible for responding to Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and Requests for Information (RFIs), crafting accurate, competitive, and persuasive proposals that highlight the unique strengths of the Calix platform. This requires a thorough understanding of our product portfolio and its application to specific customer scenarios.
- • Continuous learning and adaptation are essential. You will be expected to stay at the forefront of emerging technologies, including Agent AI for driving innovation and efficiency, the latest Wi-Fi standards, cloud automation, and smart home solutions. This knowledge will be applied to design forward-thinking solutions that help our customers anticipate and meet future market demands.
- • The role demands a strong technical background in networking, broadband technologies, or cloud solutions. A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering is preferred. You must possess the ability to simplify complex technical information, build trust, and establish credibility with both technical and business stakeholders. Prior experience in pre-sales engineering, solution design, or technical consulting is highly valued.
- • Mastery of Wi-Fi standards and Managed Wi-Fi solutions is a core requirement, along with practical experience in implementing these solutions and subscriber-facing user applications. You should have strong technical familiarity with Layer 2 and Layer 3 Access & Aggregation network architecture, as well as experience with fiber and copper-based Access systems. Knowledge of WAN services, PON, and Ethernet-based architectures is also crucial.
- • Furthermore, a solid understanding of SaaS and SDN-based technologies, coupled with familiarity with various routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, IS-IS) and transport functions (L2/3 VPN), will enable you to design robust and scalable network solutions. Comfort working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment is essential for success in this dynamic role.
- • Additional considerations include experience in the Service Provider industry or a similar domain, and a strong knowledge of operational and support (BSS/OSS) systems and their integration considerations. This role offers a unique opportunity to be at the forefront of a generational change in the broadband industry, helping to connect underserved communities and deliver unparalleled digital experiences.
