📋 Description

• Embed directly at retail insurance agencies to own customer-side AI execution end to end, working alongside agency operators to identify workflow breakdowns in submissions, renewals, and follow-up processes.
• Build governed AI workflows on QuoteWell’s Terminal platform by integrating with agency management systems (AMS), carrier portals, email, and other tools agencies actually use in daily operations.
• Determine which operational tasks can be systematized through AI without compromising human judgment, accountability, or regulatory compliance — clearly defining where humans must remain in the loop.
• Design and implement review, attribution, and override mechanisms that make AI decisions traceable, defensible, and trustworthy within a regulated insurance environment.
• Serve as the primary conduit of field feedback to Engineering, Product, and Design teams, ensuring platform improvements generalize across customers rather than fragment into one-off customizations.
• Represent QuoteWell on-site at customer locations by scoping issues, troubleshooting live system behavior, and reasoning through problems aloud in customer meetings.
• Travel to customer sites approximately 25% of the time to conduct in-person deployments, observations, and training sessions.
• Translate real-world insurance brokerage pain points into actionable engineering requirements that improve the reliability, scalability, and consistency of AI-driven operations.
• Collaborate with internal teams to refine AI models based on observed failures, edge cases, and operational constraints encountered in live agency environments.
• Ensure all AI applications adhere to regulatory boundaries and maintain auditability, making accountability the core engineering challenge rather than an afterthought.
• Contribute to the cultural foundation of QuoteWell’s applied AI practice by demonstrating integrity, impact-driven thinking, and a growth mindset in every customer interaction.
• Maintain deep awareness of insurance industry workflows, including underwriting, policy administration, and claims coordination, to ensure AI solutions align with actual business processes.
• Prototype and iterate on AI-driven solutions rapidly, often delivering working prototypes within days of identifying a new operational bottleneck.
• Document and share learnings from customer deployments to help scale best practices across the organization and prevent reinvention of solutions already proven in the field.

🎯 Requirements

• 1-5 years shipping production software (Python and/or TypeScript a plus)
• Strong engineering foundation — CS degree typical, talented dropouts welcome
• Hands-on experience with modern AI application patterns, or the aptitude and hunger to get there fast
• Someone we can trust in front of a customer: troubleshoot, scope, and reason out loud, in the room
• Genuine appetite to learn an industry deeply. Insurance is a financial supply chain puzzle, and we expect you to want to understand it
• Genuine hustle. The kind of person who walks into Monday with a working prototype of something they spotted on Friday
• Willingness to travel
