Senior Test Engineer

📋 Description

• • Serve as a senior member of an agile scrum team responsible for writing, executing, analyzing, and testing software products across all digital channels to ensure high-quality, scalable applications.
• • Collaborate with software engineers, product analysts, and stakeholders to understand requirements for new or enhanced features and translate them into test case documents, test plans, and test results that comply with SOC2 standards.
• • Perform peer reviews of testing artifacts to ensure adherence to quality assurance traceability and compliance requirements.
• • Acquire, manipulate, or create all necessary test data required for software quality assurance activities.
• • Develop and execute test automation code using Java, Selenium, Appium, and cloud-based CI/CD processes as part of ongoing regression testing.
• • Participate in refining the CI/CD pipeline, including code reviews and process improvements to enhance testing efficiency and reliability.
• • Actively engage in all scrum ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives; contribute to story creation by defining Definition of Done (DoD), acceptance criteria, and estimation.
• • Create and manage tasks in RTC or Jira, update status and assignments, and provide regular progress updates and reports on impediments to senior analysts or principals.
• • Participate in release activities, including coordination of release night operations to ensure successful, high-quality product deployments.
• • Contribute to idea generation and suggest business rules to achieve required product features, helping evolve and update the product backlog.
• • Mentor junior test engineers in test artifact creation, automation development, and adherence to industry best practices and compliance standards.
• • Demonstrate strong ownership, urgency, and drive in achieving stretch goals within a fast-paced, innovative environment.
• • Apply knowledge of the full software development life cycle, including requirements gathering, source control, build processes, testing, and operations.
• • Maintain a strong focus on user experience and usability improvements in all testing and quality assurance activities.
• • Communicate fluently and idiomatically in English, both verbally and in writing, to ensure clear collaboration across teams.
• • Travel up to 25% for work-related activities, with occasional site-to-site travel; position requires physical presence at an office-based work site.
• • Teach and train others regularly as part of mentoring responsibilities and knowledge transfer.
• • Adhere to HIPAA, data security guidelines, and Highmark Health’s Code of Business Conduct when handling protected health information and confidential customer data.
