Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • Serve as the first dedicated technical product partner for Babylist’s Merchandising and Owned Brands operations, transforming manual, Google Sheets-based workflows into scalable technology solutions.
- • Lead the full product lifecycle for merchandising technology initiatives — from discovery and validation to development, launch, and iterative improvement — ensuring alignment with business goals and operational realities.
- • Evaluate, select, and implement a Product Information Management (PIM) system to centralize product data, descriptions, images, and specifications across all sales channels.
- • Partner directly with the Owned Brands team to design and deploy technology solutions that replace error-prone, manual manufacturing and production workflows currently managed via spreadsheets.
- • Embed with Merchandising and Owned Brands teams to identify greenfield opportunities by deeply understanding their processes, pain points, and constraints, particularly when working with external vendors who cannot standardize their systems.
- • Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Data leadership to prioritize competing requests across multiple stakeholders, including Merchandising Operations, Owned Brands, and Data teams.
- • Define and measure meaningful KPIs for merchandising technology initiatives, working with data and engineering teams to surface insights and communicate impact to executive leadership.
- • Design solutions that account for real-world vendor variability, prioritizing adaptability over idealized process assumptions.
- • Leverage AI tools daily to accelerate discovery, prototyping, documentation, and delivery — using platforms like Claude and ChatGPT to reduce administrative overhead and focus on high-value judgment work.
- • Drive buy-vs.-build decisions for operational technology, balancing speed, scalability, and integration complexity with business needs.
- • Build trusted relationships with non-technical stakeholders to translate operational needs into technical requirements and ensure adoption of new systems.
- • Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences through written documentation, presentations, and cross-functional meetings.
- • Operate with autonomy in a greenfield environment where no prior technology infrastructure exists, defining the roadmap and execution strategy from the ground up.
- • Maintain a bias for action and hands-on problem-solving, having independently prototyped, shipped, or deployed solutions in past roles or personal projects.
- • Use data and process improvement methodologies to objectively prioritize initiatives and validate assumptions before committing engineering resources.
🎯 Requirements
- • 5+ years of experience as a Product Manager in an agile development environment
- • Proven experience building internal tools or operational technology that integrates with complex human workflows
- • Demonstrated ability to prototype, ship, or deploy solutions independently — professionally or personally
- • Experience with systems integration, APIs, data flows, and automation of manual processes
- • Strong ability to work with ambiguity and define executable projects in under-invested or greenfield areas
- • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for engaging both technical and non-technical stakeholders
🏖️ Benefits
- • Company-paid medical, dental, and vision insurance
- • Retirement savings plan with company matching and flexible spending accounts
- • Generous paid parental leave and PTO
- • Winter Wonder Week: company-wide paid week off at year-end
- • Remote work stipend to set up your home office
- • Perks for physical, mental, and emotional health, parenting, childcare, and financial planning
