Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • Serve as the first dedicated technical product partner for Babylist’s Merchandising and Owned Brands operations, transforming manual, Google Sheets-based workflows into scalable technology solutions.
- • Drive the full product lifecycle for merchandising technology initiatives — from discovery and definition to development, launch, and iterative improvement — ensuring alignment with business goals and operational realities.
- • Lead the evaluation, selection, and implementation of a Product Information Management (PIM) system to centralize product data, descriptions, images, and specifications across all sales channels.
- • Partner directly with the Owned Brands team to design and deploy technology solutions that replace manual manufacturing and production workflows currently managed via spreadsheets.
- • Embed with Merchandising and Owned Brands teams to identify greenfield opportunities, build trusted relationships with stakeholders, and deeply understand their pain points, constraints, and workflows.
- • Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Data leadership to prioritize competing requests across multiple functions, including Merchandising Operations, Owned Brands, and Data teams.
- • Define and measure meaningful KPIs for merchandising technology initiatives, working with data and engineering teams to surface insights and communicate impact to executive leadership.
- • Design systems that accommodate real-world vendor constraints, where external partners cannot be mandated to standardize processes — building solutions that work in the world as it is, not as idealized.
- • Leverage AI tools daily to accelerate discovery, prototyping, and delivery of solutions, integrating AI into core workflows to reduce manual effort and enhance decision-making.
- • Translate complex operational needs into clear technical requirements and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders to drive alignment and execution.
- • Operate with high autonomy in a greenfield environment, defining the scope and direction of technology investment for a $750M business unit that has never had dedicated tech support.
- • Build and ship prototypes independently, demonstrating a builder’s mindset by taking ownership of problems and creating solutions from concept to deployment.
- • Maintain a data-driven approach to prioritization, using process improvement techniques and quantitative analysis to objectively determine the highest-impact initiatives.
- • Ensure all technology solutions are scalable to support Babylist’s growth from $750M to $2B in revenue over the next three years.
🎯 Requirements
- • 5+ years of experience as a Product Manager in an agile development environment
- • Proven experience building internal tools or operational technology that integrates with complex human workflows
- • Demonstrated ability to independently prototype, ship, or deploy solutions — professionally or personally
- • Experience with systems integration, APIs, data flow, and automation of manual processes
- • Strong ability to work with ambiguity and define executable projects from unclear or undefined priorities
- • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences
🏖️ Benefits
- • Company-paid medical, dental, and vision insurance
- • Retirement savings plan with company matching and flexible spending accounts
- • Generous paid parental leave and PTO
- • Winter Wonder Week: company-wide paid week off at year-end
- • Remote work stipend to set up your home office
- • Perks for physical, mental, and emotional health, parenting, childcare, and financial planning
