  • • Join St. Charles Health System, a leading organization dedicated to creating America's healthiest community, as a Senior Treasury Accountant and Cash Manager. This pivotal remote role offers the opportunity to significantly impact our financial operations, ensuring robust treasury functions and efficient cash management across our multi-hospital and healthcare services organization. You will be instrumental in maintaining strong financial health, supporting strategic initiatives, and upholding our mission of delivering better health, better care, and better value through love and compassion.
  • • As the primary point of contact with the commercial banking community, you will be responsible for developing and executing strategies for bank relationship management. This includes nurturing corporate banking relationships, staying abreast of new products and services, and ensuring cost-effective banking solutions are in place. You will manage all corporate bank and custodial relationships, including the opening, closing, and administration of accounts, demonstrating a high level of integrity and ensuring strict compliance with internal controls related to treasury systems, account access, and supporting documentation.
  • • A core responsibility of this role is the creation and maintenance of comprehensive short, medium, and long-term cash forecasts. These forecasts are critical for supporting liquidity analysis and informing our investment strategy. You will meticulously monitor daily cash activity to guarantee sufficient liquidity and prevent overdrafts, maintaining positive cash balances across all accounts. This involves overseeing and recommending optimal funds movements to address St. Charles Health System's short-term cash needs and closely monitoring cash availability projections to ensure appropriate liquidity and asset allocation.
  • • You will play a key supporting role for the Accounting Manager, accurately researching and recording all cash activity within the general ledger. Your involvement in month-end and year-end close activities will be crucial, encompassing the preparation of necessary journal entries and the meticulous completion of account reconciliations. This ensures the accuracy and integrity of our financial records.
  • • Collaboration is central to this position. You will partner with cross-functional teams to enhance end-to-end cash processes, ensure adherence to treasury policies, and meet diverse internal business needs. A significant aspect of this partnership involves developing recommendations for operational practices aimed at improving cash flow efficiency. You will also work closely with Revenue Cycle leadership to ensure that banking services effectively support all internal requirements, streamlining revenue collection and management.
  • • This role carries significant responsibility for the administration of all merchant services across the system. You will be tasked with reviewing and aligning payment flow processes, evaluating and standardizing processor and gateway relationships, and partnering with IT and PCI security teams to achieve system-wide compliance. Furthermore, you will collaborate with outsourced vendors to optimize merchant account processes and conduct thorough analyses to reduce credit card fees, directly contributing to cost savings and operational efficiency.
  • • You will provide critical support to the VP Finance, managing interfaces with investment banks, attorneys, consultants, and rating agencies. This support is essential for new debt issuance, refinancing activities, and the ongoing management of outstanding debt issuances. You will coordinate internal efforts related to financing activities and conduct research and analysis on strategies for accessing capital markets as needed, contributing to the organization's long-term financial strategy.
  • • A key duty involves managing and monitoring compliance with all debt covenants, providing regular reports on their status. You will proactively track bond covenants and report compliance on a quarterly basis, or as needed, to management and bondholders, ensuring the organization meets all its financial obligations.
  • • You will also support leadership in developing investor communication strategies and, in collaboration with the Accounting Manager, ensure compliance with IRS reporting requirements related to outstanding tax-exempt bond issues and private use. Furthermore, you will lead benefit plan audits and ensure the timely and accurate filing of the Form 5500.
  • • This position supports the design and execution of St. Charles Health System's insurance coverage, assisting in the placement of all insurance policies that transfer risk exposure to financially viable third-party commercial insurers or reinsurers. You will provide essential data and support for broker relationships concerning policy placements and coordinate annual and periodic actuarial valuations for self-insurance reserves and risk retention assessments.
  • • Driving continuous improvement is paramount. You will identify, design, and implement process improvements, automation initiatives, and system enhancements to boost efficiency and strengthen internal controls. You will partner with the Accounting team, offering valuable insights, overseeing the balance sheet, performing reconciliations, conducting analytics, and supporting financial statement disclosures. Additionally, you will collaborate with the Finance team to model cash flow and liquidity projections, providing critical data for strategic decision-making.
  • • Embracing our organizational vision, mission, and values, you will champion Lean principles of continuous improvement with energy and enthusiasm, acting as a catalyst for positive change. You are committed to providing and maintaining a safe environment for caregivers, patients, and guests, conducting all activities with the highest standards of professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality. You will comply with all applicable laws, regulations, policies, and procedures, acting ethically and appropriately, and cooperating fully with all organizational investigations and proceedings. Delivering exceptional customer service and/or patient care that is timely, efficient, and accurate is expected in all interactions.
