- • As a Senior Underwriter at Prime Therapeutics, you will play a critical role in driving profitability and sustainable growth by analyzing complex financial and utilization data to inform pricing strategies for the company’s book of business. Your expertise will directly impact Prime’s ability to deliver value-based pharmacy benefit management solutions while maintaining financial discipline and competitive positioning in the healthcare marketplace.
- • You will serve as a trusted financial consultant across departments, providing data-driven insights that support sales negotiations, client engagements, and strategic decision-making, ensuring that pricing models align with both client needs and Prime’s financial objectives.
- • Day to day, you will evaluate the utilization and financial experience of customers and prospects, many of which involve highly complex datasets requiring deep analytical scrutiny.
- • You will perform claims re-pricing analyses on the most complex external claims data, applying advanced mathematical and statistical techniques to assess risk, trend patterns, and financial outcomes.
- • You will collaborate closely with Sales, Marketing, and Client Engagement teams to develop client presentations and support negotiations by providing underwriting expertise on pricing structures, performance guarantees, and financial trade-offs.
- • You will consult with cross-functional partners including Legal, IT, HPS (Health Plan Services), and Marketing on matters with financial implications, participating in meetings as needed to ensure alignment and compliance.
- • You will maintain and apply current knowledge of PBM industry pricing strategies, ensuring that underwriting practices remain innovative, compliant, and aligned with market dynamics.
- • You will foster positive, collaborative relationships with key business owners across the organization, acting as a bridge between financial analysis and operational execution.

- • In this role, you will develop deep expertise in healthcare financial underwriting, advanced Excel-based modeling, and cross-functional stakeholder management, positioning you for advancement into senior financial analytics, strategy, or leadership roles within Prime or the broader healthcare industry.
🎯 Requirements
- • Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, accounting, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience; high school diploma or GED is required.
- • Minimum of 5 years of related work experience in finance or accounting, with demonstrated proficiency in financial analysis and data interpretation.
- • In-depth knowledge of mathematical applications used in underwriting, including the ability to calculate discounts, proportions, percentages, and apply business mathematics and algebra to solve underwriting problems.
- • Proficiency in MS Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, with advanced Excel skills expected for data modeling and analysis.
- • Prior work experience in the PBM and/or healthcare industry is preferred, as it provides critical context for understanding utilization trends, reimbursement models, and client needs.
- • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions in one-on-one or small group settings, with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
