As our iOS Software Developer on a contract until August 30, 2026, you will own the end-to-end delivery of new and existing features for The Weather Network MétéoMédia across iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, and Universal apps—products that millions of Canadians rely on every single day.
• • Translate product vision into elegant, performant Swift and SwiftUI code. You will analyze requirements, design scalable solutions, implement pixel-perfect interfaces, and shepherd each feature through integration, automated testing, and deployment—ensuring every release meets the high bar of the country’s #1 most trusted media brand.
• • Champion modern development practices. Write “Clean Code” that follows Clean Architecture principles, leverage MVVM and other proven design patterns, and introduce new technologies that keep our native platforms at the cutting edge of iOS innovation.
• • Build bullet-proof reliability with TDD & ATDD. Craft comprehensive unit and functional tests that run continuously in our automated CI/CD pipeline, catching defects before they ever reach production and giving our users the confidence to plan their lives around our forecasts.
• • Collaborate in a truly Agile environment. Join daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives as a vocal, influential team member. Pair- and mob-program with developers, QA, designers, product owners, and stakeholders to turn complex weather data into intuitive, accessible experiences.
• • Optimize data flow from sky to screen. Design efficient caching strategies using CoreData and SQLite, implement lazy-loading techniques, and integrate RESTful/XML feeds so that hyper-local alerts and radar imagery load instantly—even on the weakest cellular connection.
• • Push the boundaries of Apple’s ecosystem. Harness CoreLocation for precision positioning, CoreData for offline resilience, and the latest WatchKit APIs to deliver timely complications and notifications that keep users safe and informed on the go.
• • Influence beyond the codebase. Contribute to architectural decisions, mentor junior developers, and document best practices so that every line of code you ship today remains maintainable and extensible for the teams that follow.
