- • As a Software Development Engineer at PitchBook Data, Inc., you will be part of the Product and Engineering team, delivering backend services that power the PitchBook platform used by thousands of customers daily. Your work will directly impact customer experience and business growth through innovative, reliable, and scalable solutions.
- • Day to day, you will design, develop, and maintain platform components; write testable and efficient code; collaborate in Agile teams with engineers and product managers; conduct code reviews; provide technical guidance to peers; own small end-to-end projects; support production applications via deployment, troubleshooting, and incident management; and model company values through teamwork and integrity.

You’ll gain hands-on experience with AWS/GCP, Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform, and CI/CD pipelines, and have the opportunity to influence platform evolution and mentor others in a high-impact engineering environment.
🎯 Requirements
- • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a similar field
- • 3+ years of experience in Software Development or Engineering roles within a medium or large enterprise
- • 3+ years of experience with Java, Python, Go, or a similar object-oriented language
- • 1+ years of experience with infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g. Terraform, Puppet, Ansible, Chef)
- • 1+ years of experience with containers and orchestration platforms, including Kubernetes and Docker
- • Experience working within a development team in an Agile environment
- • Ability to be a team-player who can also work independently
- • Proficiency in RESTful API design
- • Proficiency in GitOps and creation/management of CI/CD pipelines
- • Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) and/or Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
- • Experience with distributed, scalable microservices and event-driven architectures
- • Experience with data storage, replication, caching and search technologies, such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, MS SQL Server, Amazon RDS, GCP CloudSQL, Redis, Elasticsearch, and Lucene/Solr
- • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- • Strong problem-solving ability
- • Familiarity with architecture trade-off analysis methods and domain-driven design preferred
- • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite including in-depth knowledge of Outlook, Word, and Excel
- • Must be authorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future
