- • Design, build, and operate high-volume distributed systems that serve as the backbone of Abnormal Security’s cybersecurity platform, directly influencing customer trust and retention.
- • Develop and maintain the Integrations Platform that connects Abnormal’s platform to enterprise tools, ensuring seamless, reliable, and scalable data exchange.
- • Engineer the Configuration Platform to accelerate developer velocity for a team of 100+ engineers, enabling faster and more reliable product delivery.
- • Own end-to-end system design, delivery, and operational reliability of critical infrastructure, including comprehensive unit and integration testing.
- • Participate in on-call rotations to troubleshoot and resolve production incidents, ensuring high availability and rapid response to customer-impacting issues.
- • Collaborate with Tech Leads, Engineering Managers, and Product Managers to define, prioritize, and deliver key product features aligned with business goals.
- • Mentor junior engineers by providing technical guidance, code reviews, and career development support to elevate team performance and engineering standards.
- • Write detailed technical design documents that articulate system architecture, trade-offs, and long-term scalability plans for cross-team alignment.
- • Drive operational excellence through monitoring, fault tolerance, incident response, and performance optimization of low-latency, high-throughput systems.
- • Communicate effectively in an asynchronous environment, proactively providing updates, raising blockers, and proposing solutions without prompting.
- • Champion quality-driven execution by prioritizing sustainable, maintainable code, rigorous testing, and performance benchmarks in all deliverables.
- • Contribute to knowledge sharing and professional development initiatives to raise the overall engineering bar across the team.

- • Work within a stack that includes Python, Go, AWS, Kubernetes, Django, Spark, and Prometheus to deliver scalable, resilient cloud-native solutions.

🎯 Requirements
- • 4+ years of backend engineering experience with distributed systems, designing and operating production applications in Python and Golang
- • Proven ownership of end-to-end platform systems, balancing feature development with operational responsibilities at scale
- • Expertise in building low-latency, high-throughput systems using SQL/NoSQL databases with strong operational excellence (monitoring, fault tolerance, incident response)
- • Ability to write technical design docs, make practical architectural trade-offs, and influence cross-team technical direction
- • Demonstrated growth trajectory with increasing impact, responsibility, and ownership over time
- • Excellence in asynchronous collaboration with strong written communication and ability to work autonomously in distributed teams
