Full Job Description

đź“‹ Description

  • • Shape the future of AI-driven analytics. As a Software Engineer – AI Frontend at Omni, you will be the creative force behind the user-facing layer of our next-generation business intelligence platform. You will design and ship elegant, high-performance interfaces that let non-technical users converse with data through natural language, while power users still enjoy the precision of SQL and spreadsheets—all within a single cohesive experience.
  • • Own end-to-end product features that millions of data-driven decisions will rely on. From whiteboard sketches to production deployment, you will architect React components, craft intuitive interaction flows, and instrument analytics to measure real-world impact. Recent examples include embedding a full spreadsheet engine inside our BI canvas, enabling one-click CSV ingestion that auto-maps to our semantic layer, and building an MCP server that lets Blobby, our AI chatbot, generate governed queries without exposing raw data.
  • • Collaborate with a cross-functional squad of backend engineers, product designers, and data scientists who previously scaled Looker and Stitch. Together you will iterate rapidly—often shipping to production multiple times per day—while maintaining rigorous standards for accessibility, performance, and security. You will participate in weekly design jams, code reviews that double as knowledge-sharing sessions, and customer calls that ground every line of code in real pain points.
  • • Leverage cutting-edge AI to re-imagine how people explore data. You will integrate large-language-model APIs, build prompt-engineering pipelines, and create guardrails that guarantee accuracy and governance. Expect to experiment with vector embeddings, retrieval-augmented generation, and fine-tuning techniques, then package these advances into delightful, foolproof UI patterns.
  • • Champion a culture of craftsmanship and curiosity. We believe the best products emerge when engineers are empowered to question assumptions, instrument everything, and refactor mercilessly. You will write extensive unit and e2e tests, contribute to our open-source style guides, and mentor junior teammates through pair programming and lunch-and-learn sessions.
  • • Bridge the gap between technical complexity and user simplicity. You will distill intricate data-model concepts into clear visual metaphors, progressive disclosure flows, and contextual help systems. Accessibility, localization, and keyboard-first navigation are not afterthoughts—they are baked into every story you ship.
  • • Influence the roadmap with data and empathy. By analyzing usage telemetry, interviewing customers, and dog-fooding our own product daily, you will surface insights that guide quarterly OKRs. Your voice will be heard in product strategy meetings, and you will have the autonomy to pitch and lead green-field initiatives that could redefine our competitive edge.
  • • Thrive in a remote-first, trust-based environment. Whether you choose to work from our hubs in San Francisco, Santa Cruz, Philadelphia, Dublin, or Sydney—or entirely from your home office—you will enjoy flexible hours, asynchronous workflows, and annual team retreats that blend deep technical dives with surf lessons and cheesesteak tours.

🎯 Requirements

  • • 3–10 years of production software experience with deep proficiency in TypeScript or JavaScript
  • • Demonstrated ability to ship high-quality React (preferably Remix) applications at scale
  • • Strong technical communication skills—able to explain complex ideas to engineers, PMs, and non-technical stakeholders alike
  • • Strategic thinker who balances business impact, product goals, and engineering excellence
  • • Hands-on experience with analytical tools such as SQL, Looker, Tableau, Mode, Amplitude, or Google Analytics
  • • Nice-to-have: familiarity with data warehouses (Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift) and prior exposure to AI/ML integrations or AI-assisted feature development

🏖️ Benefits

  • • Competitive salary and meaningful equity in a well-funded, fast-growing company
  • • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance for you and dependents
  • • 401(k) plan with company match and generous paid parental leave
  • • Annual learning and wellness stipend, plus flexible PTO and remote-first culture
