- • As a Software Engineer, Backend at Zip, you will design and build core products and architecture for an AI-powered enterprise procurement platform used by Fortune 500 companies, directly contributing to innovations that have saved clients over $8 billion and processed over $500 billion in spend.
- • Day to day, you will design and build highly reliable and resilient products and features, write high-quality extensible code in Python and JavaScript, develop scalable frontend applications and APIs using React and GraphQL, and collaborate closely with product and customer-facing teams to ship thoughtful solutions that integrate with systems like Jira, ServiceNow, and financial platforms.
- • Zip’s team includes product leaders from Apple, Airbnb, and Meta, and former procurement leaders from United Health, Sanofi, and NASA, creating a high-impact environment where engineers work autonomously to solve complex technical challenges while receiving mentorship from experienced peers.
- • In this role, you will deepen your expertise in full-stack web development, API design, cloud-native deployment (Kubernetes, Spinnaker), and observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana), while gaining exposure to AI-driven automation and the opportunity to shape intelligent workflows that redefine enterprise procurement.
🎯 Requirements
- • BS or higher in Computer Science or a related technical field involving coding (e.g., physics or math)
- • Experience with web application and API development in production environments
- • Experience with industry-standard build, test, and deploy tools such as Kubernetes, Spinnaker, Jenkins, Kibana, Prometheus, and Grafana
