- • We are hiring on behalf of our client who is seeking a skilled Software Engineer - Backend & Data. The organization analyzes over 20 billion search signals to predict the next major consumer trends, enabling brands to optimize their marketing and product development strategies.
- • In this role, the successful candidate will help design and implement the next iteration of the data pipeline, storage solutions, and APIs backing a high-traffic SaaS platform. This is a remote, full-time contractor position open to qualified candidates located within Europe, operating with a high degree of autonomy.
- • Key responsibilities include defining, designing, and implementing continuous improvements for the SaaS platform, data storage, and ETL pipelines related to security, quality, testing, automation, and new features; ensuring high availability, scalability, and performance of the platform, data architecture, and associated internal tools; supporting internal staff and external stakeholders in understanding and maximizing the utility of the platform’s data and tools; contributing actively to sprint planning, backlog grooming, and task prioritization; estimating technical effort and assisting in establishing realistic project timelines; and proactively tracking and reporting on development progress, identifying and resolving potential delays or technical roadblocks early.
- • The team operates with a high degree of autonomy, values pragmatic problem-solving and mutual respect, and offers the opportunity to work directly alongside company founders to influence the strategic technical direction of a well-funded, profitable platform at the forefront of machine learning and consumer trend prediction.
- • The person can learn and achieve deep expertise in large-scale data pipelines, ETL systems, and scalable backend architectures while contributing to products used by Fortune 500 consumer goods companies, gaining exposure to cutting-edge ML applications and strategic technical decision-making in a high-impact, remote-first environment.
🎯 Requirements
- • Minimum of 3 years of professional software engineering experience, specifically focused on backend development and ETL pipelines for web applications.
- • Proven experience collecting, cleaning, structuring, and analyzing large, complex data sets.
- • High proficiency in Python, Pandas, and SQL.
- • Must be physically located and working within Europe (with capability to align with required operational time zones).
- • Strong deductive reasoning and problem-solving skills, with a demonstrated ability to understand hierarchical data relationships and identify logic gaps.
- • Self-starter mindset with the ability to manage multiple priorities independently across different timescales.
- • Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
