- • Build and operate global multi-region architectures to support Zip’s core infrastructure expansion across multiple geographic cells.
- • Assume end-to-end ownership of critical infrastructure components including Kubernetes platforms, AI infrastructure, observability systems, deployment pipelines, and cost optimization frameworks.
- • Design, implement, and maintain highly scalable, resilient systems that power enterprise procurement workflows used by Fortune 500 companies.
- • Collaborate directly with product and engineering teams to accelerate the delivery of core features and enable faster innovation across the platform.
- • Lead technical initiatives to improve system reliability, performance, and operational efficiency across distributed environments.
- • Drive best practices in infrastructure as code, automated testing, and incident response for mission-critical services.
- • Optimize infrastructure costs while maintaining high availability and performance standards across cloud-native environments.
- • Participate in on-call rotations to ensure 24/7 operational stability of core infrastructure systems.
- • Document architectural decisions, system designs, and operational procedures to ensure knowledge sharing and team scalability.
- • Evaluate and integrate open-source technologies such as Celery, Redis, Docling, and DBOS to enhance infrastructure capabilities.
- • Work closely with cross-functional teams across multiple time zones to align infrastructure roadmap with product priorities.
- • Champion technical excellence by mentoring junior engineers and promoting clean, maintainable, and well-tested code practices.
- • Contribute to the evolution of Zip’s AI infrastructure to support AI agent orchestration for procurement automation.
- • Monitor system health using observability tools like Datadog to proactively identify and resolve performance bottlenecks.
- • Implement secure, compliant, and auditable infrastructure patterns that meet enterprise-grade security and governance requirements.
🎯 Requirements
- • 4 years of experience in software engineering
- • Strong track record of building and operating large-scale platforms or infrastructure independently
- • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- • Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or a related technical field (e.g., Physics, Mathematics)
