📋 Description
- • Design, develop, test, and maintain software for edge devices, on-premise servers, and cloud-based infrastructure supporting Glacier’s AI-powered recycling platform.
- • Build and improve RESTful APIs that connect edge devices, server systems, and customer-facing web applications to ensure seamless data flow and system interoperability.
- • Design and enhance user interfaces within the web application used by clients to visualize recycling data and operational insights.
- • Implement, manage, and optimize data processing and machine learning inference pipelines running on server infrastructure to enable real-time image analysis of recyclable materials.
- • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues across the full stack—from edge hardware sensors and embedded systems to backend services and frontend web interfaces.
- • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product, field operations, and customer success to define requirements, prioritize features, and deliver solutions that improve recycling efficiency and sustainability outcomes.
- • Contribute to the scalability and reliability of the data platform by ensuring robust architecture, monitoring, and performance optimization across distributed systems.
- • Participate in code reviews, documentation, and agile development cycles to maintain high-quality software standards and team alignment.
- • Work directly with US-based engineering and product teams, requiring clear communication and alignment on technical specifications and project timelines.
- • Maintain and extend existing codebases written in Python (backend/edge) and JavaScript/TypeScript (frontend), ensuring compatibility and maintainability across environments.
- • Support deployment pipelines and operational workflows to enable continuous integration and delivery of software updates to edge devices and cloud servers.
- • Contribute to the evolution of Glacier’s data platform by identifying bottlenecks, proposing architectural improvements, and implementing scalable solutions for growing client demand.
- • Engage in system-level debugging that spans hardware-software interactions, network connectivity, and data pipeline failures in real-world recycling facility environments.
- • Ensure software solutions align with client needs as demonstrated through feedback from municipal recycling facilities and major CPG companies like Colgate and Amazon.
- • Stay current with industry best practices in distributed systems, data engineering, and AI inference deployment to continuously improve platform performance and reliability.
🎯 Requirements
- • 3+ years of work experience with relevant programming languages (e.g., Python for backend/edge, JavaScript/TypeScript for frontend)
- • 1+ years developing or consuming APIs (e.g., RESTful APIs)
- • Solid experience with backend web frameworks (e.g., FastAPI, Django, Flask)
- • Strong problem-solving and debugging abilities
- • English Proficiency (C1 or higher) as you will be working with a US-based team
