📋 Description

• Software Engineer on the Dev API team at Ramp, building programmatic surfaces that enable developers and AI agents to interact with financial infrastructure at scale.
• Day-to-day responsibilities include building and operating Ramp's multi-surface platform with high reliability and developer experience, serving thousands of builders and partners via the API, creating autonomous tooling and agents to accelerate endpoint development, leading complex backend projects end-to-end in Python, Temporal, and Postgres, and owning user experience and platform robustness with a focus on quality and sustainability.
• Ramp is building the smart infrastructure for finance teams, automating over $200B in annualized spend across 70,000+ companies, with a mission to empower ambitious businesses through developer-first financial tools.
• The role offers the opportunity to shape how software interacts with financial systems at scale, work on AI-focused platform initiatives, own high-impact projects end-to-end, and grow as a builder in a high-agency, high-urgency engineering culture.

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years of backend engineering experience
• Experience building APIs or developer-facing platforms
• Strong instinct for developer experience, including sensitivity to poor documentation, error messages, and onboarding
• Demonstrated hands-on, daily use of AI coding agents as the primary development driver
• Comfort with agentic workflows, orchestration layers, and AI tooling broadly
