- • Design, develop, and maintain developer experience tools and platforms that empower internal data engineering and analytics teams at Matillion.
- • Build and enhance CI/CD pipelines, automation scripts, and infrastructure-as-code configurations to streamline deployment and reduce friction in the software development lifecycle.
- • Collaborate with product, engineering, and data teams to identify pain points in the developer workflow and implement solutions that improve productivity, reliability, and velocity.
- • Create and maintain documentation, SDKs, CLI tools, and internal APIs that make it easier for engineers to interact with Matillion’s data automation platform, Maia.
- • Contribute to the design and implementation of monitoring, logging, and alerting systems that ensure high availability and performance of developer-facing services.
- • Participate in code reviews, pair programming, and knowledge-sharing sessions to uphold code quality and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
- • Integrate third-party tools and services into the developer ecosystem to enhance testing, debugging, and deployment capabilities.
- • Advocate for best practices in software engineering, observability, and DevOps within the engineering organization.
- • Respond to incidents and support requests from internal teams using Matillion’s tools, providing timely resolutions and root cause analysis.
- • Stay current with emerging technologies in developer tooling, AI-assisted development, and platform engineering to continuously evolve Matillion’s internal toolchain.
- • Work closely with the Maia product team to ensure developer experience aligns with the platform’s AI-driven automation capabilities.
- • Translate complex data engineering workflows into intuitive, scalable, and reusable developer interfaces and abstractions.
- • Optimize build times, reduce dependency conflicts, and improve the overall developer onboarding experience across global engineering teams.
- • Contribute to the selection and adoption of new technologies that enhance developer productivity and platform reliability.
- • Ensure all developer tools comply with security, compliance, and data governance standards across Matillion’s global infrastructure.
- • Provide feedback to product managers on feature requests and usability issues reported by internal users of developer tools.
- • Help scale developer experience initiatives as Matillion grows its engineering team across the UK, US, and India.
🎯 Requirements
- • Proficiency in at least one modern programming language such as Python, Java, or Go
- • Experience building and maintaining developer tooling, CI/CD pipelines, or internal platforms
- • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform or CloudFormation
- • Strong understanding of software development lifecycle practices and DevOps principles
- • Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and orchestration systems like Kubernetes
- • Proven ability to collaborate across engineering teams and translate technical needs into functional tools
