- • Collaborate with founders, sales, design, and other engineers to solve problems for users—both workers and businesses—on the WorkWhile platform.
- • Build new user-facing features using React and React Native, owning the full lifecycle from architecture to visual design and interactive functionality.
- • Contribute to the platform’s technical infrastructure and cultural foundations as the company scales through rapid growth.
- • Drive results independently by identifying problems and delivering solutions without requiring constant oversight.
- • Deeply understand user needs by engaging directly with frontline workers and businesses to challenge assumptions and improve product outcomes.
- • Take initiative to upskill independently, staying current with frontend technologies and best practices in React and React Native ecosystems.
- • Communicate clearly and effectively in both verbal and written form across engineering, product, and non-technical teams.
- • Work within a small, senior engineering team composed of former employees from Rippling, Stripe, DoorDash, and Faire.
- • Embrace a user-centric approach, prioritizing impact and outcomes over task completion or project timelines.
- • Operate with autonomy while maintaining strong collaboration, balancing independent ownership with team alignment.
- • Participate in shaping the engineering culture by promoting competence, speed, and a positive, fun work environment.
- • Contribute to technical decisions that support scalability, maintainability, and performance of the frontend codebase across web and mobile platforms.
- • Engage in iterative product development cycles, rapidly prototyping, testing, and refining features based on real user feedback.
- • Support the company’s mission to revolutionize the hourly labor market by building tools that enable same-day pay, telehealth access, upskilling, and schedule flexibility for workers.
- • Work in a remote-friendly environment with office hubs in San Francisco, New York, Seattle, and Toronto, with opportunities for in-person company offsites.
🎯 Requirements
- • Strong JavaScript fundamentals
- • Expert-level skill with React and/or React Native
- • Self-sufficiency: ability to pick up a problem and drive it to completion independently
- • Demonstrated initiative to upskill oneself
- • Clear verbal and written communication skills
