📋 Description

• As a Software Engineer, Full Stack - Platform at Rad AI, you will play a pivotal role in building and maintaining the healthcare data platform that powers mission-critical products like the Reporting application, directly contributing to improved patient care and reduced radiologist burnout through AI-driven innovation.
• You will develop scalable, secure, and high-performance systems that connect backend infrastructure to customer-facing applications, working at the intersection of healthcare and cutting-edge AI technology in a mission-driven environment.
• Your day-to-day responsibilities will include developing large-scale progressive and single-page web applications using modern JavaScript/TypeScript (React) frontend and Python/FastAPI backend services, including REST APIs and ML pipeline integrations.
• You will build new features to support a rapidly growing customer base, ensuring code meets internal standards for security, style, maintainability, and best practices in a high-scale HIPAA-compliant web environment.
• Collaborating closely with Product Management, UX, Customer Success, and other stakeholders, you will iterate on features, address defects, and advocate for improvements in product quality, security, and performance.
• You will work with health data formats such as HL7 and FHIR, leveraging Rad AI’s proprietary radiology report dataset to enhance data flow and system interoperability across the platform.
• The role emphasizes performance optimization at scale, requiring you to diagnose and prevent bottlenecks in distributed systems while maintaining strong version control practices using git in a remote-first, distributed team setting.
• You will contribute to a culture of transparency, inclusion, and collaboration, helping to shape how healthcare data flows across the company to empower physicians and transform patient outcomes.
• This role offers the opportunity to grow technically and professionally by working on one of the largest proprietary healthcare AI datasets in the world, impacting nearly 50% of all medical imaging in the U.S. through partnerships with major health systems.

🎯 Requirements

• 6+ years of industry full stack engineering experience with single and multi-tenanted environments
• In-depth knowledge of JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, and FastAPI, or equivalent modern languages/frameworks
• Knowledge of relational and document-based databases, as well as other large-scale data storage paradigms
• Fluency with HTML, CSS, responsive design, and related web technologies
• Experience with unit and integration testing, performance optimization, and strong version control using git
• Experience working on distributed teams and diagnosing/preventing large-scale performance and optimization problems
