Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • Architect and ship end-to-end product features that turn half a billion daily events into real-time, AI-generated insights for UX researchers and product managers at companies like Notion, Figma, Coinbase, and TripAdvisor.
- • Own the full lifecycle of new capabilities—from scoping requirements with PMs and designers, through writing React front-end components and Node.js/Express APIs, to instrumenting AWS-based data pipelines and PostgreSQL schemas that scale to millions of inference queries per day.
- • Design and evolve distributed backend systems that ingest, transform, and enrich high-volume event streams, ensuring sub-second latency for AI prompts and privacy-safe storage of customer feedback.
- • Collaborate daily with a cross-functional AI team that includes applied scientists, prompt engineers, and senior engineers; participate in architecture reviews, pair programming, and blameless post-mortems that raise the bar for code quality and operational excellence.
- • Extend Sprig’s AI inference platform by integrating new foundation-model endpoints, optimizing prompt context windows, and adding guardrails that guarantee trustworthy, bias-aware insights for enterprise customers.
- • Build and maintain robust, testable RESTful APIs that power both the Sprig web application and third-party integrations, using modern TypeScript patterns, automated test suites, and continuous deployment pipelines on AWS ECS and Lambda.
- • Instrument observability across services—metrics, traces, structured logs—so the team can detect anomalies in data freshness, model drift, or user-facing latency before customers notice.
- • Iterate rapidly on user-facing surfaces: interactive dashboards, survey builders, and insight feeds that translate complex AI outputs into clear, actionable recommendations for non-technical researchers.
- • Contribute to shared engineering standards, documentation, and internal tooling that accelerate every teammate’s ability to ship safely and learn continuously.
- • Grow into larger ownership areas—such as event-driven architectures, distributed data processing with Kafka/Kinesis, or prompt-engineering frameworks—while mentoring junior engineers and interviewing future teammates.
- • Work three days per week from our light-filled downtown San Francisco office (steps from Montgomery BART), soaking in whiteboard sessions, catered lunches, and the energy of a team redefining an entire category.
