📋 Description

• Software Engineer II role focused on designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable backend services in a distributed system environment, with 99% of work dedicated to backend development.
• Day-to-day responsibilities include developing software solutions using C#, C++, and MS SQL/PostgreSQL, collaborating on UI development as needed, and building, deploying, and managing applications using AWS resources such as EC2, ECS, Lambda, SQS, and SNS.
• TaxWell, Inc. is a leading digital tax filing platform formed in 2022 from the combination of Drake Software® and TaxAct®, dedicated to helping everyday Americans maximize tax refunds through innovative, user-friendly tax preparation software.
• The role offers opportunities to contribute to continuous improvement in coding standards, system reliability, and automation, while collaborating in code reviews, design discussions, and cross-functional team meetings to ensure high-quality, scalable software solutions.

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
• 3–5 years of experience in software engineering, ideally in backend or systems development
• Proficiency in C# and C++ programming languages
• Strong experience with MSSQL/PostgreSQL database design and optimization
• Hands-on experience working in AWS environments, particularly with EC2, ECS, Lambda, SQS, and SNS
• Experience developing, deploying, and supporting distributed systems
