• • Lead and manage a high-performing Cloud Engineering team, providing essential technical direction, mentorship, and performance development to foster engineering excellence and drive the successful delivery of our cloud infrastructure.
• • Oversee the comprehensive design, architecture, and implementation of secure, scalable, and resilient AWS cloud infrastructure that forms the backbone of QuartzBio’s cutting-edge SaaS platform, ensuring it meets the demands of our life sciences customers.
• • Direct the strategic development and ongoing maintenance of robust Terraform-based Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) solutions, emphasizing modularity, reusability, and consistent, reliable environment provisioning across all stages of the development lifecycle.
• • Design, implement, and continuously refine sophisticated Kubernetes (EKS) deployment strategies, leveraging Helm charts to ensure optimal reliability, efficiency, and manageability of applications across various environments.
• • Optimize and govern our CI/CD pipelines within GitLab, focusing on enhancing automation, streamlining deployment processes, and ensuring seamless integration with Docker and Kubernetes for faster, more reliable releases.
• • Foster strong cross-functional collaboration with Engineering, QA, and Product teams to establish standardized tooling, best-in-class deployment practices, and efficient operational processes that promote consistency and agility.
• • Proactively identify, prioritize, and champion automation initiatives and process improvements across infrastructure management, deployment workflows, and cloud operations to significantly enhance system reliability and minimize manual intervention.
• • Maintain a deep and current understanding of modern cloud engineering practices, including the latest tooling, source control methodologies, and integration patterns, to guide critical technical decision-making and ensure consistent alignment across the entire engineering team.
• • Provide hands-on coaching, technical guidance, and mentorship to team members, actively supporting their skill development, career growth aspirations, and the consistent delivery of high-quality engineering outcomes.
• • Lead and manage the day-to-day operations of the functional cloud engineering team, establishing clear performance expectations, effectively allocating work assignments, and ensuring strict alignment with overarching organizational priorities and strategic goals.
• • Drive the adoption of cloud-native best practices, focusing on security, scalability, cost-efficiency, and observability to ensure our infrastructure not only meets current needs but is also future-proofed for growth.
• • Develop and implement robust monitoring and alerting strategies to ensure proactive identification and resolution of potential issues, minimizing downtime and impact on customer experience.
• • Collaborate with security teams to embed security best practices into the infrastructure design and deployment processes, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
• • Manage cloud resource utilization and costs, implementing strategies for optimization and efficiency without compromising performance or reliability.
• • Contribute to the technical roadmap for cloud infrastructure, aligning it with business objectives and product development timelines.
