• Join Jerry, a rapidly growing insurtech company revolutionizing car ownership with our AI-powered AllCar™ super app. We are seeking a talented Software Engineer II with a backend-leaning full-stack skillset to become a pivotal member of our Core Marketplace Automation Team.

• As part of the Core Marketplace Automation Team, you will be instrumental in building and enhancing automation systems designed to empower our users with self-service capabilities, ensure continuous insurance coverage, and deliver an exceptionally smooth user experience.
• You will tackle complex challenges related to insurance servicing, including but not limited to, policy endorsements, cancellations, document verification, and reinstatements. Your efforts will directly contribute to reducing policy cancellations, improving renewal rates, and ensuring our users always maintain optimal coverage.
• We operate on fast-paced sprint cycles, with an average deployment time of 1–2 weeks for new automations. This allows for rapid iteration and immediate impact.
• Your responsibilities will involve composing robust backend business logic that effectively drives automation while meticulously adhering to the complex and varied rules set forth by insurance carriers.
• You will design and implement sophisticated backend pipelines responsible for synchronizing customer policy data, delivering critical, timely alerts to users and internal teams, and powering seamless re-shopping experiences for our customers.
• A significant part of your role will be to optimize and scale our internal tools, which function as critical infrastructure akin to an in-house DocuSign for servicing operations, with the ultimate goal of reducing manual agent intervention to near zero.
• You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Product Managers, Data Scientists, and Engineering Operations, to proactively identify and address potential churn drivers, thereby enhancing overall customer retention.
• We foster an environment of asynchronous work across different time zones, minimizing unnecessary meetings and maximizing productivity through effective collaboration tools like Asana and Slack.
• You will be expected to continuously improve our backend systems, APIs, and microservice architecture, ensuring scalability, reliability, and maintainability as we continue to grow.
• This role offers the chance to work on software that handles real-world, high-stakes transactions, requiring a deep understanding of system design, data integrity, and performance optimization.

🎯 Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of full-stack engineering experience, with a strong emphasis on building production-grade software and distributed systems.
• Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, and systems design principles.
• Proven ability to tackle ambiguous problems, break them down into actionable code, and iterate quickly.
• Demonstrated ownership of end-to-end outcomes and a commitment to continuously improving systems.
• Excellent asynchronous communication skills and comfort working across teams and time zones.
