📋 Description
- • Software Engineer II on the L2 Messaging Team at CareMessage Inc., contributing to the core messaging platform that powers patient communication for over 400 safety-net healthcare organizations, directly supporting the mission to improve health equity for 5 million low-income individuals in the United States.
- • Day-to-day responsibilities include completing scoped work with guidance from senior engineers, building increasing independence on well-defined features, contributing to team goals, and collaborating with Product, Customer Success, Data, and Engineering teams to deliver messaging features that enhance patient engagement and health outcomes, including work on delivery optimization, consent management, and AI-driven messaging.
- • The team is a mission-driven, fully distributed group of engineers, many with lived experience in the communities served, working within a nonprofit model that reinvests revenue into impact, and is part of CareMessage’s effort to scale its Health Equity Engine™ platform, which has reached 20 million patients since 2013.
- • In this role, you will deepen your backend engineering expertise under senior guidance, apply your Ruby on Rails experience to real-world health equity challenges, adopt a scientific, data-driven approach to problem-solving, contribute to technical documentation and PRDs, and grow into a more independent engineer while advancing a mission you believe in.
