- • Architect, design, build, deploy, and maintain Model Serving infrastructure that supports Abnormal Security’s world-class Detection Engine using industry-standard AI tools.
- • Own end-to-end projects that scale model serving and data processing services to handle 10x the current traffic volume.
- • Design and maintain real-time and near real-time streaming pipelines and online feature serving services critical to detection accuracy and latency.
- • Collaborate closely with Machine Learning Engineers and Data Science teams to distill feedback, align on strategy, and execute on platform improvements.
- • Build scalable, customer-centric backend systems with a first-principles approach focused on stability, performance, and long-term maintainability.
- • Solve novel, high-impact problems autonomously in a fast-paced environment, iterating quickly while balancing immediate needs with architectural scalability.
- • Ensure robust operation of large-scale distributed systems on cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) with adherence to cloud engineering best practices.
- • Contribute to the continuous improvement of the Model Platform by integrating feedback loops from ML teams and translating them into actionable engineering initiatives.
- • Maintain high standards for system reliability, observability, and performance optimization across distributed services handling sensitive security data.
- • Work effectively within a distributed, remote-first team using asynchronous and written communication to drive alignment and delivery.
- • Break down complex technical challenges into manageable components, prioritize effectively, and deliver solutions that enable faster ML experimentation and deployment.
- • Champion ownership and impact by taking initiative on platform improvements that directly enhance the productivity and confidence of data science stakeholders.
- • Stay current with emerging AI engineering tools and practices to accelerate development cycles and improve system efficiency.
- • Participate in code reviews, system design discussions, and on-call rotations to ensure platform reliability and operational excellence.
- • Contribute to documentation and knowledge sharing to support team-wide adoption of best practices in model serving and data pipeline engineering.
🎯 Requirements
- • 4+ years of experience as a Software Engineer or in a similar role, with hands-on experience in building data-focused solutions.
- • Proficiency leveraging AI tools to accelerate engineering outcomes through discovery, design, implementation, and rollout of software systems.
- • Experience maintaining large-scale distributed systems on cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure, including strong grasp of cloud-based engineering best practices.
- • Experience with maintaining real-time and near real-time data pipelines or streaming services.
- • Experience working with distributed teams, proficient in asynchronous and written communication.
- • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment, breaking down complex challenges into manageable steps.
- • Strong fundamentals in computer science, data structures, and performance optimization.
- • BS degree in Computer Science, Applied Sciences, Information Systems, or other related engineering field.
