- • As a Software Engineer III at Walmart Inc., you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of retail technology by building and maintaining critical Android features and platform capabilities. - • In this dynamic role, you will be responsible for the end-to-end lifecycle of Android application development. This includes designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality Android features, ensuring they are robust, performant, and user-friendly, leveraging modern Android technologies and established design patterns. A significant part of your day-to-day will involve close collaboration with cross-functional teams, including product managers, designers, backend engineers, and Quality Engineers (QE), to deliver seamless, secure, and intuitive mobile experiences that align with business objectives. You will actively participate in technical design discussions, contributing to the implementation of solutions that are not only functional but also scalable, testable, and maintainable for long-term success. Owning feature delivery for assigned projects, from initial implementation through to deployment and ongoing production monitoring, will be a key responsibility, with the support of senior and staff engineers when needed. You will be expected to write clean, well-tested code, actively engaging in code reviews to uphold stringent engineering standards and best practices, thereby fostering a culture of quality and continuous improvement. Performance optimization will be a continuous effort, utilizing profiling tools, crash analytics, and performance dashboards to enhance app performance, reliability, and overall user experience. Troubleshooting production issues will require a proactive approach, using observability and monitoring tools to diagnose problems and drive fixes to completion, ensuring minimal disruption to users. You will work within well-defined modular codebases and contribute to architectures that seamlessly integrate with GraphQL APIs and microservices-based backends, ensuring efficient data flow and system interoperability. The implementation and maintenance of automated tests, including unit, functional, and end-to-end tests, will be crucial for ensuring application quality and supporting high-confidence releases. You will also assist in the evaluation and integration of third-party SDKs and APIs, aiming to enhance customer experience and engagement. Furthermore, you will contribute to the continuous improvement of development workflows, CI/CD practices, and overall team engineering processes, promoting efficiency and innovation. Staying current with the rapidly evolving Android ecosystem, Google platform updates, and emerging mobile trends will be essential to maintaining a competitive edge.
